Since we've owned our 2021 FR GeoPro Model G19FD I've continually evolved my winterization checklist. I figured I'd toss it out there in case it helps anyone else.
A couple of caveats...
1.) I live in western Oregon in the Willamette Valley so our winters don't get all that cold nor are they...
Dear Brian et other Isata3 owners, attached is my rendition of my Isata 3 24FW plumbing with some questions:
1. I can't find Valve E for the Truma Aquago Comfort Plus circulation line. Do I need one if not installed?
2. I don't have a Truma Control Panel, so power switch up is Eco and down is...
setting aside the ongoing debate, To cover or not to Cover, :D I have decided to cover my toy hauler for the winter. I live in the northeast with some pretty heavy snow and winds.
my trailer will be stored outdoors for the winter from Nov to end of March.
what have you all used in the past...
I've always winterized our 2019 Isata 3 by blowing out the lines and adding RV antifreeze to the traps and tanks. I've never had an issue until this past spring when I found leaks in a small plastic elbow beneath the shower. So in trying to up my game a little, I thought I'd try adding some...
Hello all,
My wife and I are new (used) owners of a Georgetown 351ds and were thinking of getting out of Michigan in the winter. I would like to spend Christmas in FL with my parents and then head off on a grand adventure to arrive in Anaheim for our grandkids spring break (and get them out of...
Good day all! This is my first year and upcoming winter with a motor coach or really any larger RV. I am currently in Maryland but plan to take the coach to North Myrtle Beach, SC and spend about 4 months there in the coach – a 2023 FR Georgetown G7 36D with the Arctic package. I would also plan...
Bunked leaks have been a problem during storage for the last few years and I have tried various things, many from this forum, which did not seem to work for me. I also tried several of my own and finally came across what I think works quite well while at the same time being quick and easy...
Hello,
I bought a 2022 ss550 last october so I've never had to winterize it yet. I'm wondering how it's done? Does the girard tankless water heater need to have antifreeze added?
Thanks,
Marc
With fall here I'm trying to educate myself on winterizing our 2019 R-Pod-180. We live in Big Bear Lake, CA the winters can get nasty up here, we are at 7000 feet above sea level. the average high is 48 and the low in the 20's.
We don't know if we want to buttoning the trailer up for the...
Hi all,
I am new to RV life with a GeoPro 19FBS. I want to be able to mount a TV to the outside rail that came on the trailer. You can mount a table and the griddle on it. I thought I would use it for an outside TV instead. Any ideas how? When I Google it I only find where people bolt the mount...
Hey guys. Of course I will continue to research online but wanted to get a few opinions. Our Wolf Pup lives on family land in East TN. We use it every few weeks or so when traveling through from Middle TN. We plan to camp for a week in November and December. It doesn’t really get super cold...
Hi there -- I am about to winterize my Isata 3 for winter (first time for me, I'm a newbie here ;-)) and I've been told to remove the 2 chassis lithium batteries and put them in a heated place for winter. It was also suggested to buy an intelligent battery charger and plug the batteries for the...
Hi everyone!
This is my first post but I have been following the forum for several years now and have learned a ton of things from the great members here.
My wife and I and our critters have now been living full time in our trailer for 4 months while we build an addition to our house...
We plan on traveling south from MN to the gulf in late Jan. I am going to winterize the trailer in the next few weeks and we are pretty good with what to do there. Are there any hints or must do items when loading up to go south? Figured we would leave it winterized until we reach our...
Hey, this summer we bought a 2015 23' Rockwood Roo, I'm having a problem at the end of the winterizing process. I've drained the hotwater tank, turned on the hotwater tank bypass, drained the grey/black tanks as well. I read online to dump RV antifreeze in to the fresh water tank then to use...
Why can't I just drain the pipes in the rv instead of adding the pink antifreeze? If there is no water there is nothing to expand. If it's in case there is some water left can i just add the anti freeze then drain it thereby if there is any water left it will be antifeezed.
Since i live in frigid Wisconsin, I will store my MotorHome inside over the winter. Is it a good idea to maintain my batteries by leaving the Shore Power connected, or are Battery Maintenance systems (such as a NOCO Genius system) a better approach? If I go the NOCO route, is a 1A system...
If RV was not used to fill water or washroom used, i.e. Black and grey bin are empty, Water bin is empty… all pipes are empty.. is it worthwhile to winterize when parking outside in cold weather? Or can the RV get away without winterizing ?
I know I’m a newbie, but I’ve never heard of this before. Do people winterize like this? I thought I just pumped antifreeze into the water pump.
RV Winterizing kit&Sprinkler Blowout Adapter with shut off valve: Air compressor Quick-Connect plug Water Blow Out Fitting Adapter for Winterize...
Hi fellow travelers- So, I watched a few videos and read some instructions on the subject. The Forest River video first does the compressed air blow-out of the water system and then follows it with the antifreeze method. Using both methods is overkill, correct? In the past we had a larger TT...
I know it’s early but does anyone have specific instructions on how to winterize a Villa 42View?
We bought a 2024 and the instructions are pitiful and generic.
Thanks
I’m a newbie and wondering the recommended way to store our 2023 Flagstaff FD camper. It will be winterized and wondering what to do with the battery and solar panel.
I am a new owner of a Coachman Nova RB 2023.
I'm looking to get it ready for winter. I have the concept, but am looking to mark my tubes. Which one is the one for dumping the fresh water, which is the bypass valve for the pump and water heater. I'm not having any luck with finding the...
I’m looking to purchase a winter cover for my 2012 233s. I’d like a heavy one that has the opening to be able to get in durning the winter. Does anyone have any recommendations? I’m in central NH an it gets below freezing for most of winter and snow is anywhere from 1”-24”.
Thank you!
