    Winterizing A frame hardside

This is a newbie sort of question, I have a 2015 FR Hardside A128s. It has no waste water storage tank, I have drained the fresh water tank and blew air through the system. My question is why do I need to charge the system with antifreeze if there is no water to freeze? I must be missing...

Winterizing and still able to use during winter

I asked this question a few days ago and I received several great responses. In one response, it was suggested that the water heater anode rod be removed to drain the tank. I think I saw in another post that a deep socket 1 1/16 inch socket is needed. I will need to add that to my toolbox. Is...

    Winterize question

Newly purchased 2022 Sabre 38DBQ. Our campground will be disconnecting power before I can winterize. I know my battery (with juice pack) will provide enough power to close the slides. Will my residential refrigerator drain my battery when the 120v is disconnected?

    Towing after winterizing?

I have a Rockwood ESP, and we will be storing our trailer at a storage area for the winter. (yay, suburb life!) Am I ok to winterize in my driveway, then tow it to the facility? Or should I take everything with me and winterize it in place there? There's no shower or toilet, so it's just the...

    Winter Cover

Anyone have any info on TT covers? What brand held up really well or what ones to avoid? I'm in need a new one this year. I definitely want to find one with multiple straps/tie off grommets. When the winter wind gets under the cover it moves all over and causes wear & tear any place there is...

    Battery maintainer over winter

This is the first winter for my camper trailer. I will be covering it and debating the best way to maintain the battery. I am inclined to not have the 30A cable plugged in. Instead I am thinking about turning the battery disconnect switch off and connecting a battery tender/maintainer to the...

    Winterizing?

We like to camp all year and have never fully winterized our rvs that were parked on driveway at home when not being used. The 5th wheel basement had ducting to the cabin and a small quartz heater ran all winter at a temperature of 70 degrees. We did put rv anti-freeze in the sink traps and in...

Florida This Winter- How Safe Is It?

We decided to give Florida a chance this winter instead of Arizona to save a few miles driving. The reservations were made last January, prior o the Delta variant and what we are now seeing and reading in the news about Florida. We are both in our seventies and fully vaccinated, I even qualified...

    Didn't Winterize

Hi Solera Family At least I hope to become part of the family. We are looking at buying a 2013 Solera 24R from our neighbor. Looks in excellent condition, has 28000 miles but there is always one "big" gotcha. I don't think it was correctly winterized last winter and Oklahoma had one of it's...

Do Air Brakes Freeze In Winter?

I live in south Florida and have no experience with winter weather. Next year, we are starting off on a long trip in February and we may encounter sub-freezing temps for a few weeks (or a heat wave, who can tell anymore?) I have heard about parking brakes freezing to the wheels so was...

    Air in water after de-winterizing

When de-winterizing I used the city water hookup to flush the antifreeze, then filled the FW tank half way and turned on the pump to flush the pump and remaining water lines. The faucets had a lot of air and the pump kept running after shutting the faucet off. I searched the threads for...

I've been covering my Skylight in the winter with a home made wooden box/cover. My question is: am I wasting my time? Does the skylight need to be protected from snowload? I'm in Northern Ontario so lots of snow. Thanks.

    Winterizing Hassle

I'm not looking forward to the hassle of winterizing and having to play with anti-freeze. Can't I just drain all liquids from a travel trailer, park it for the winter, and call it a season? Sounds like a no-brainer to me. Don't understand the fuss on winterizing.
