Ski Bum Truck V2.0, F450 Rough Road RV

Nice work! Awesome ID sticker on the lid! The crowds are truly unbearable right now. Edit- every photo I upload shows up sideways, if anyone knows how to cure this, help is appreciated!

    Toter insurance vs motorhome insurance

We have Progressive via USAA (USAA does not insure boat/rv/toys, partners with Progressive for those items) on our Renegade Motorhome.

I have the ARB version of those lights on my URJ200. Still deciding which way to go for the rig. Lights are needed as well as a bumper. The elk are out in full force. Propane tank is big, will be nice in the winter!

Option 2 sounds best especially since your steps have defeated the dry storage already. Maintain clearance for larger tires in the future and safe from being hit from behind or back in in to anything. Did you decide to add the extra bracket on the black tank? Tile job looks great.

How big of a Garage should I build

You are really limiting yourself. Go 40 x 55 with double 14' tall doors. You know you will fill it up.

    Automatic chains

We have Onspot chains on our M2. You can download a measurement sheet or give them a call and they will assist to make sure you have the clearance on your C6500. They ship each kit built specifically for the rig it is going on. You will not find these stocked on a shelf so your best bet is...

Ski Bum Truck V2.0, F450 Rough Road RV

Glad to hear it stayed warm. The mud and thawed out parking lots are a disaster everywhere right now. Your front rubber appears to offer more traction then my steer tires. Did you have to use your maxtrax?

I replied to this the other day and I received a message that an admin would have to approve the posting. It must have been the link to the product. So let me type this up again... We have (5) Eva-Dry 500 Mini dehumidifiers that require no power when in the field and you can plug in to...

We have a macerator and it works extremely well...as long as you keep the hair out. We have drain protectors in the shower and bathroom sink to keep the hair to a minimum. We purchased the rig used and shortly after purchase had to replace the macerator. The original one was fried, found...

Ski Bum Truck V2.0, F450 Rough Road RV

Good call on the moving blanket, we have been exploring options but we store so much in the front seats at this point, whatever we had in place would get destroyed/torn down. To keep loads down I would try out some Eva-Dry 500's. We have 5 of them placed throughout the bathroom, cabinets...

FWIW... We run an electric heater placed in the center of the cab. This keeps the cold air coming through the cab cut out at a minimum and blows all the warm air back. Of course the generator runs more frequently (to power boot dryers, heater and dehumidifiers), however in the winter our goal...

    Snow Chains - Revisited?

SCORE! Well played and excellent choice. Far easier to get in to the main lot then the old maintenance/"RV" lot when snowing. The Caterpillar H950 had to help multiple RV's get in to the upper lot late last Thursday night, early Fri am.

    Snow Chains - Revisited?

Last Thursday the chains were no match for Ol Man Winter. I had to back down this hill on our way up to Whitewater in BC, Canada. Parked in the town of Nelson for the night and waited for them to clear the "road." Made it up early Fri morning. Looking at going with XZY3 steer tires and XDN2...

    Snow Chains - Revisited?

RVing and skiing....unheard of. These shots are from a few weeks back on Snoqualmie Pass at Alpental lot 3. Like Java said, good tires, matrax and heavy machinery close by at the resort and anything is possible. I do not have 4x4 like he does but we put On Spot Chains on our Renegade. The...

Curious if you have had any issues with lines freezing up with your on-demand method? We too winter camp in ski resort parking lots & at trail heads but I just leave the water tank heater on. It uses very little propane and I have had no issues with lines freezing.
