    because 10 tires isn't enough???

Yep. You are right. I have absolutely NO FRIGGIN idea what I am talking about.

    because 10 tires isn't enough???

Um, you guys realize that when the tag is on the ground all it is doing is helping keep the rear axle weights legal. The only way the tag will increase the steering axle weight is to attempt to take almost all the weight off the drives. It is way to close (think of a lever) to the drives to add...

    Air line splice ?

Shouldn't be if it was installed properly. Even if the splice was 'illegal' your chances of ever getting in trouble for it are probably about zero........

    Air line splice ?

You mean a DOT compliant splice? IF that is what you mean the yes, it would be legal. The main thing is.... Does it leak?

    because 10 tires isn't enough???

No, you couldn't maneuver with the tag. Steerable means the wheels steer like casters. That way you aren't dragging them on every corner.

    because 10 tires isn't enough???

Yea, but he said it "looks cool". I can't say as it looks cool enough to be $30,000 cool! I think the saw him coming for that money........

    because 10 tires isn't enough???

Maybe he was worried about getting pinched for overweight? Or maybe he had it and put it on for the "cool" factor? Either way it looks good! edit: I just looked at the ad and even he says it's "cool"!

    I get a "DO OVER! "

If you look at THIS PAGE the first post has a PDF of the specs for the transmission you are asking about. It isn't the clearest, but you can read it.

    Replacing a 9 speed with a Auto ?

I can't imagine it would easy or inexpensive. There is one company that I found that you could call since they give no info on their website: Allison Automatic Conversion

    359 Pete Single Axle Conversion

I don't have a truck (yet), but have been told by some pretty reliable sources that you can figure $1500 to about $1800 to single out a truck. Singling short would be the best for maneuverability and long for a better ride. The decision is up to you, but keep in mind that a long wheel base can...

    Insurance?

I discussed this problem with my insurance agent (State Farm) and she told me as long as the title says Motorhome they will insure it. I asked about the number of axles and the answer was "Doesn't matter"! The only thing I need to find out is how to get insurance on the truck before the title...

Converting back to gas from propane

I really can't help you much, but most of the time the gasoline stuff is still there. I have driven pick ups that were both propane and gasoline. All you did was flip a switch to go between the two fuels. I wish I knew how they were set up, but that was 16+ years ago........

    Converting to residential fridge

Bob, it sounds a lot like a defective inverter. I got a new 400 watt that would beep for a low battery even while on a fully charged battery. The replcement was fine and I still use it.

Members On the road, where are you now?

Besides the Needles, make sure you go on 16A. Not with your motorhome, but if you have a toad.

    toterhome insurance with a 40ft 5th wheel

I was talking to my agent about getting an HDT and he said it would be about $1000 a year for insurance. He just quoted it off the top of his head, so I have nothing to prove one way or another, but State Farm apparently has no problem writing a policy.

Do you by chance have a pyrometer? That will tell you if the pipe is large enough.

    About travel trailer

I don't have any experience doing what you want to do, but I am sure that there will be plenty of advice for you. The only thing I have gathered from a project like that is to figure out what it will cost you then double it!

    water tanks

That I disagree with. My wife filled the grey tank enough that it started coming up in the tub. Yep, it STINKS. If you have an issue with the water sloshing round while you are driving remind me not to ride with you!!:p If you look at a trap or better yet have one in your hand with water in it...

    water tanks

I guess I don't see the problem? Have you had odors come from your traps while running 70 mph through the mountains? The only way you would get odors through the p-trap is to plug the vent and pressurize the tank that they are hooked up to. If the traps were dry then you would get odors, but...

    water tanks

P-traps are more than enough to stop the odors. If they didn't you would have odors in your house since the black and grey water are in the same pipe and also the traps are the same ones in your RV.

Well, with a tester like that you certainly don't need a $200 meter!

    trailer hitch

I'm guessing with wanting a 30K hitch you want a fifth wheel hitch. Look at THIS PAGE and there is a list of hitch companies. I have heard nothing but good about the ET hitch, but due to the owner just having surgery he is not able to be a speedy as he was, bit probably will be again!
