I don't know exactly how I ran across this site but I wish it would have been about 6 months ago. Getting to the point of finally buying a used truck after investigating the many coach builders and options I think it would have been much faster and easier than doing it without the input of more experienced folks. It definately is an interesting and truly fun adventure however. My problem of the week is now trying to decide on tires. I am looking forward to using the rig out in the CA desert{Glamis, Dumont etc} and the issue of reducing the chance of getting stuck with an approximately 30,000lb rig has got me thinking about these so called super single or otherwise really wide single tires that take the place of conventional dual

When I looked into the cost for my Chevy 6500 Roll-back wrecker the two steer tires with rims mounted and balanced were $1700+ they were Michelin 305X??X22.5 can't recall the ply rating...but the cost of (6) Michelin tires with change out rims mounted and balanced were $1600+.... made me change my mind quickly.....very quickly.....and the Goodyears (6) were even cheaper.....another issue is the rim cost with the wider rims-there is no exchange program.....also aluminum rims are eye candy and have absolutely no value in what I do......geof <in Cincinnati>

OK, is it more time at Glamis or Dumont? Do we know you?
