Truck Length Question

I am definitely down for that. We could probably use the Nashville Super Speedway. They built it for Nascar but they never came. It is never used but extremely nice. It is on the 840 loop right outside of Nashville. I could make a call if anyone else would be interested. I would think that we could get a couple of manufactures to show up as well.

id be up for it ! the problem w/ the huchinson one is its all (retired) tractors / 5er pullers....interesting yes but "theyre not us".

Im betting that i could get Haulmark / Factory support - it would be cool to get the mfg.'s behind any rally.

If you pre-register then you get the t-shirt. I'm never organized enough to know for sure if I'll be able to make it.
Now I need to convince my wife it will be money well spent. She is not real exited about my plans........

Yes Don, it's almost all HDT's pulling 5th wheels. But they are all a bunch of nice people. And there has been a Truck Conversion at 5 of the last 6 Rallys (mine). And there has been another T/C at the last two. Actually I think there were two at the last one but I wasn't there. Most of the informational sessions are geared toward towing a 5th wheel with a HDT. But some of them are useful for us too. One of the manufacturers that comes to display does Truck Conversions (Spacecraft).

So, now the good. It's located in the middle of the country. The campgrounds is huge and there is lots of room for big rigs. The rate is pretty good. It's at the end of the summer (October) so off season for just about everybody. There are lots of great attractions in the area. They have great social hours. Everybody was real nice to me even though that's a hard thing to be. I'm quite sure there would be no animosity toward T/C's by anybody. There have been some people that want to learn more about T/C's and checked out my rig.

I think it would be great to get a bunch of T/C's there. Of camper rally's I suspect this one is the closest to our needs, or wants. All of the work organizing and planning is done. I think it would be pretty hard to organize and carry off a Truck Conversions Rally with more than about 5 rigs. I say we just keep on infiltrating the HDT crowd. I'll bet we could even organize a one or two hour session to talk about the virtues of Truck Conversions if there was enough interest. There isn't a lot of open time in the schedule there but there is some. I sure have had a bunch of fun there, my wife even likes to go because of all the nice people we've become friends with. Let's go!

Understood that they are (mostly) nice folks (yourself included ;) of COURSE ).

The only real reason i even pay attn to this rally is because YOU attend & if it weren't so far (or i could piggy-back it w/ another trip) i'd be there.

i agree - its probably the closest bunch w/ anything in common with us & it would be good to go & support you (in force)...and because of that its always on my list for consideration.

w/ the price of fuel dropping it might be higher on my bucket list :D

we've got a reservation/slot at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta the 1st weekend in October.

Don't you think we need more T/C's there, Dave?

Absolutely! A lot of T/C's would make the group photo very interesting...

I just volunteered to give a seminar on truck conversions--basic stuff, covering the pros and cons, where to find one, etc. Want to help?

Wow. That's great news. I'll help with anything I can. I'm not sure if I'm going though. I never know until the last minute. I'm more likely to go now knowing we get a seminar.

Here I thought you were going to lead me by the hand to get there??:p

I'm likely to go. But I just can't commit until we're almost leaving. My wife still works and is very good at throwing a stick into my gears at the last minute. You and Dave have given me two great reasons to go though.

That certainly would be great if the prices do stay low! All of us would save a butt load of money on fuel!! It was hard to believe I filled my car (2012 VW JSW TDI) for $25. That was the least amount it has ever cost me!
