How do most of you have your rigs insured? I am picking up my 2013 Haulmark 4504 the first of July. Finishing up my paperwork and I need to insure. My home owners insurance and auto is thru Ga Farm Bureau. Not sure if the insure rigs like this. I will call tomorrow. I know some of the class a forums talk about Good Sam but what do y'all recommend?

I called my State Farm agent and gave him the info on my rig. He called back later that day. Full coverage, $500 deductible, costs me $500/year.

Just as infor I have all my stuff with American Family Insurance. Home, Autos, Motor home and other stuff.

ours is with blue sky - 1000 dollar deductible, roadside assistance & towing, insured for 110k/120k (iirc) replacement/value for 700 per year.

sounds like (according to bob) its time for me to shop it around.

I'm with State Farm. $1,500 per year with a $1k deductible. I have no tickets and everything else with them too. I am very satisfied with the premium for the amount of coverage that I have.

I just checked Good Sam - they were all most DBL my current premium, and had lower coverage & didnt include roadside assistance !

New to the forum. I recently purchased a 1995 Peterbilt tractor. I bought it with the idea of converting it from a tractor to a toy hauler by taking off the fifth wheel, building a flatbed, and installing a toy hauler fifth wheel to tow my 5th wheel flatbed with 2 mud trucks. I am wondering what is the best way to register & insure the truck as to avoid DOT tax and regulations. Any ideas? It is 100% for personal use

Mmiller, you're going to probably do a lot of reading and searching. This thread is about insurance so I think you might want to start a separate thread with your question. But I believe what you're actually trying to do is more in the HDT section. There is a huge amount of information over on the Escapees HDT forum. Good luck. (HDT stands for Heavy Duty Truck).

I just renewed mine through State Farm for another year and I paid $1,872.00. I had posted that I paid $1,500.00 for the previous year. I went back and looked at the bill and it was $1,692.00. I am not sure why it went up. I have had no tickets or accidents. I still think that it is very reasonable for the amount of coverage that I have.
