My friend recently bought a fl-70 cummins with a automatic. How does he go about keeping this from being commercially tagged, I know it started life as a box van so no 5th wheel is currently on it. He plans on souly using it for pulling his toy hauler and never for any type of profit.
He bought it from utah and it should arrive this week sometime, no for emmisions concern being in california, this is a 2000 so it would probably be an electronic engine so it should be emmisions legal right?
He is also curious how this 240hp cummins with auto will pull his approximate 11k empty toy hauler or would it be best to have this motor turned up? This a a class6 truck now being it's a 2000 would it have to be electronically turned up or just through the fuel pump?
Compared to his 1997 f350 powerstroke will this fl70 out pull his f350?
also could his toy hauler be converted to air brakes? this truck seems to have a trailer supply valve so he is curious about that.
anyone from california tell me about any hassles you've had registering a class6 that came from another state and approximate costs involved.
