electrical equipment for conversion

Hello everyone; Happy Fourth of July ! I am in the process of converting a Kenworth T2000 into a Toterhome. Can anyone give me a list of electrical equipment I'll need to buy to allow refer,microwave, coffee pot, etc to be powered from an inverter while driving and a generator while parked without having to unplug and plug components into different grids? Thanks in advance for any responses. Great forum.

Sound to me like you are setting the whole system on 12 batteries. If so, then all you need to is have something to charge the batteries. The main engine with a strong alt and then either a 12V generator or a generator with a battery charger. Is that what you are doing, or did I miss it?

I guess what I'm looking for is some kind of splitter that will allow electrical components to operate off of the house batteries (being charged from the truck charging system) and automatically changing over when the onboard generator is started. This way I can elect to not start gen while in rest area and still have electrical components to work. I know I'll need an inverter, splitter and generator but not sure how to hook up or select the proper items. I hope this makes sense.

Look for an inverter/charger with a built-in transfer switch. If you're looking to run everything through the inverter, that's all you'll need once you add the generator and electrical distribution panel. Make sure your battery bank and cabling are big enough--running a microwave will draw in excess of 100A DC.
