Last weekend we attending a seminar on Safety and Towing for our new TT, offered by the dealership where we purchased it. We have been to several seminars there and found them to be helpful and informative, even though there are a few shameless plugs for their services and accessories...
Just got back from a trip and as we were parking at home (thankfully), a wheel bearing blew out and the tire fell off. This is the drivers side brake tire. What would cause this to happen??
I am replacing my Goodyear RST G614 tires with the identical product. On the old tires I ran 110 PSI religiously. Did a CAT scale weigh and the trailer axles came in at 12240 lbs with most everything in the RV except a fridge full of food and some clothes. We do not haul with any tanks full...
As I've been discussing in a thread I posted earlier, I bought a new truck. That required a new tonneau cover and the factory options didn't really suit my desires.
Discovered the following at a local dealer that, for my uses, is perfect. Hard, lockable, folding, and the sections stand...
have Sunseeker 2400 R MBS front tires are wearing on outer edges of tread. alignment tech says alignment ok that coach is porpoiseing. what will fix this?
My NOBO 16.8 has aggressive 235/70/15 tires on 6 inch rims. I've discovered that very few manufactures make a tire in this size and all are aggressive tread. I rarely take my TT off road. I want a tread for hiways. Can I go to a 225/70/15 on the stock rims?
Besides over-inflation, what would cause the rear tires of the TV to wear in the center on both tires? I had no problem with my previous trailer with the same TV and hitch. The only thing different is the trailer. Maximum weight trailer rating for my TV is 10,160 and I am well under that. TIA
I'm trying to put something together to safely lift my MiniLite for emergency tire changes. I prefer the more traditional approach of a bottle jack versus ramps that and I have a few on hand. Dexter seems to recommend jack via the frame as well.
I did a few measurements and the frame is around...
2014 21' Wildwood TT being pulled by an F350.
We're going to Alaska in June for the summer, probably boondocking most of the time. The tires on the TT are ST205/65/14. They are 6 ply rated. We'll likely be travelling over rough frost heaved paved roads with gravel sections and who knows what...
I am new to trailer camping and purchased this Rockwood hard side camper at the very end of the 2023 camping season, so I did not have a chance to use it. I will be purchasing a new battery and tires sometime in April.
I want a very good battery and very good tires. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
I had noted that a number of people had said to replace the factory Chinese tires as they are failure prone. I had planned to do that as soon as I got my 23MK out of the shop for slide repair. On the way to the shop sure enough I had a blowout with some resulting damage. All five tires were...
I heard somewhere that people are changing out the tires on their Coaches every four years regardless of mileage. Is his true and if so, why? Do they do that on school buses, heavy trucks, fire engines, etc?
Hello XLR Toy Haulers
I have a tire question for the family. When I purchased my camper back in 2016 it came with West Lakes Tires. Of course I heard about all the negative comments about China Bombs. Soon after hearing that I immediately contacted my tire guy and he recommended the G614...
Hello all. Planning to purchase 6 tires this spring. RV came with michelin LT 225/75 r16. Looking at the Michelin Agiles Crossclimate or Cooper Discover LT same size. Coopers cost less. We only travel April thru October about 3000 to 4000 miles per year. Does anyone have any experience with...
Hi. I have a 2022 F-150 with 20 inch tires. The tires seem to be consumer grade 4 ply tires. I have a relatively "light" Real Lite SS-1600 that weighs in at about 1200 lbs dry. I've read somewhere you need E-rated tires, which are 10-ply. I'm taking about a 2-month trip on this rig this...
Just bought a 2018 23bds Roo with brand new subject tires load range d. I think id rather have the Goodyear endurance tires but these are new. any comments appreciated. Thanks Mike
I own a 2024 Sunseeker 2350le built on a Ford chassis, which interestingly doesn't include a spare tire. However, there is a rod attached underneath the chassis intended for holding a spare. I'm curious if a spare tire could actually fit in this designated spot, and if so, why the model doesn't...
I have an 2010 FR Forester 30 foot with 2 slides on a Ford E450 chassis. I usually pull a 20foot car trailer behind it. When I bought it it had 28k miles and now It has 48k miles. I have replaced every tire twice already. They don’t were out they usually break a cord or develop a bulge or even a...
Hello.i just got a 2019 freedom express 246 RKS. Can anyone explain to me how the spare tire holder works. Is there a tool for unscrewing the nut that holds the plate under the spare.im not sure all the parts are there.tryed to find a photo on line.
Has anyone replaced the stock 205/75R15 tires with 225/75R15? I am not looking to haul more load, just want the extra protection of a 10 ply tire. The stock tires seem slightly undersized to me. Will the stock aluminum rim handle the 80PSI max of a 10 ply?
I'm getting ready to replace the 6 Michelins on my XL. Now at 28,000 miles and going on 10 years old, they appear serviceable with no cracks, or other visible indicators that they should be replaced.
I get the aging out vs wearing out but as a believer in maximizing the life of any useful...
Here's a link to an article regarding a chemical in all tires that also kills salmon.
Something called 6PPD that inhibits degradation and cracking.

We've owned new our 2019 GeoPro GF19 for 3+ yrs, I noticed the spare tire (underbelly rear 'hung') was hanging ~1/2" loose about 2 months ago, so I tightened up the holder with the lug tool, snug, that winds the cable on the lug/stud under the stairs.
I didnt think to wonder why it was loose...
