I posted this in another thread, but figure I would start a thread for it to possibly help fellow RV's.
This may be painful to watch as I am not the best video maker, but it shows it can be done.:D
Eventually I will get two 6 volt batts, but Im finding it hard to destroy these 12 volts. They...
If you happen to be headed to Colorado this summer or fall or are already planning for next summer, take a look at my thread "Boondocking Sites in Colorado Rockies" in the "On the Road/Travel Chat" forum.
When boondocking the water pump will run for about 2 seconds every 15 minutes. I have no known water leaks. Assuming the water pump is repressurizing the system. Maybe a leaking check valve?
What is considered normal? What have others experienced?
I just got back from another weekend enjoying the new TT with friends. This time I returned to one of my favorite camping areas, Heber Mountain.
Heber Mountain is a 10,200-foot summit east of Heber City and southeast of Park City, Utah. However, it doesn't look like much as it's surrounded by...

Despite those who say there is no free camping in Colorado anymore, there are a number of FREE or inexpensive camping areas that are conveniently located in some of the most popular tourist areas of the state. Although most out-of-state RVers will use I-70 to get to the Western Slope, Colorado...
Thinking about a trip into Rocky Mt National Park area...we mostly boondock but not that area of Colorado much.
Don't want to use established campgrounds, probably all full anyway.
Anyone from that part of our fair state that wants to share any info?
We boondock all over the southern part of...
We have a 2018 Cardinal and we are boondocking for 10 days. We need to add water to the fresh tank. It does not have a gravity fill ability so the old funnel and external pump won't work. It has valves. I already have buckets of water and a hose... Can anyone tell me how to do this?
I just got back from 3 days/2 nights of boondocking at 10,000 feet in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest southeast of Park City, Utah.
Less than 90 minutes from home, this underutilized area is one of my favorite places to camp. Literally tens of thousands of acres are criss-crossed by...
Hello All,
I'm sure this was covered somewhere, but I haven't found it yet. Sorry, but I'll just send it out again. Going away to Watkins glen races the end of this month. It will be the first time dry camping. I have a 3400/3100 inverter generator to run A/C and a couple lights when...
For the latest weekender I headed to the North Slope of the Uinta Mountains for a little lakeside relaxation.

We just got back from 4 days/3 nights of some very diverse camping across Utah.
Yeah, this was on our last night (at Forsyth Reservoir) and not at the beginning of our trip, but I had to make this photo front and center. What a spot!
My DW's aunt and uncle, from near Quebec City, are visiting...
We will be continuing our trip from Green Bay through northern WI. Northwest to Duluth. Any Boondocking areas outside of Walmart along the way?
Any suggested "Must See areas" or easy hiking areas? We like the easy gorgeous outdoor hikes. We aren't spring chickens any more. :crying:
We...
Greetings!
I have learned that the new Walmart Maxxstart 24F battery that came on my '03 Roo provides 71 amp hours. This is obviously sufficient for camping at sites with hookups, but probably not going to be very good for 2 days of boondocking. I will not often be in areas suitable for solar...
I was talking to a feller yesterday about boondocking up in the White mountains this coming summer and the issue of having a water supply. He turned me on to this setup he uses for his 5th wheel. Of course one would travel with it empty and then fil at a source nearby after camp is established...
Before I get going on the fun stuff allow me to introduce ourselves (I know this isn't where it should go but, this is where I will hang out the most). We are the Trowbridge's, Michael, Robin, and pup Sophie From College Station, Texas. We purchased our 2109S August this past year and have...
Not planning on boondocking often and the just for single night but I was wondering how long a residential refrigerator would run off of the batteries without a recharge? There are two heavy duty batteries standard with our new motor home. Will these last over night?
I wanting to start boondocking at the lake. They have spots right by the water. They had electric for a lot of years. Had a lot of flooding and rebuilding electric box's. I'm looking at a inverter generator. Some 2000 watts and 3000 watts . I 'm looking to up grade my trailer in a few years ...
Just curious for opinions on best boondocking battery array utilizing two 12V Deep Cycle type batteries.
Specifically, parallel or series wiring best for this situation?
Thanks,
I am hoping to do some boondocking close to home in the 2017 camping season, any suggestions on where to do that in PA? Live in Lancaster County and willing to travel 6hrs. Any recommendations on good or bad spots.
I've done this trick to my last 2 RV's, and we absolutely (and wifey endorsed!) love love love this!. I wish RV Mfgrs started making this as an option!
So, I claim it as "The BEST MOD EVAH!" lol... It's for us Dry (no city-water hookup) or self contained/ boondockers, or part time hoofers. ;)...
