Has anyone else had trouble with blowing bearings and having to replace axles?! We are having bearing blow every year no matter how many times we pack them and how light we pack the trailer.
It looks like I need to order up a new axle. It looks like the rubber is starting to tear/push out of the forward axle on the driver side. Has anyone seen this kind of issue? We bought the trailer used last year. Overall it's in great shape so I don't think it was abused, the roads here are...
I just replaced my manual adjust brakes with self adjusting brakes and at the same time I changed from 205/75R15C to 225/75R15E on my 2011 Coachman Catalina 22FB. Bigger tires. Of course I checked for clearance. Lots of room. Short trip and check showed rubbing in inside wheel well on passenger...
I bought a 2012 Rockwood Roo 233S last fall and I am doing some pre-summer maintenance on our trailer and need a little assistance with the brakes and axle bearings. The trailer is equipped with a Dexter dual-axle, and I believe it has Dexter's EZ-Lube hubs (see picture). Here are my...
I have a suspension question for the group. Has anyone modified their trailer suspension for more clearance? If so, what was the original clearence and what was the mod clearence? Reason I ask this is that I just had new Dexter Torsion Flex axles installed that took me from about 1 inch which...
At the Sumo springs site, three options for Sprinters come up for the rear ones; two of which have this statement: Do not use on Sprinters with 2" block on axle. Do the 2017 Isata 3's (built in early 2016) have this block? A forum member told me which ones he ordered but I misplaced my...
Just picked up a new used 2006 38rl W&P. I'm trying to find the part number for the axles that were offered that year? It has 6k but I know 7k were an option on the trailer and possibly 8k? I have contacted Forest River and given them the vin in hopes they can help (no reply yet). I'd like to...
I bought a 2017 F350 and this truck is taller than my 2012 so the front of my Rockwood 8289WS was raised up to get the rail clearance on the truck. I measured 8" higher in the front over the rear. So I was wondering what this did to my rear axle weight. I went to the scale last weekend and split...
I sent this text to Chris Bennett at Dynamax service dept via email on 4 may 2017.
anyone else with this problem??? I read a post where a member had Lippert obsolete axles. Now I have AL-KO obsolete axlex. This is crazy. Forest river should do better.:crying:
We own a 2015 Trilogy .
I want to...
Need to jack up my 2017 524rlws Flagstaff. It has the Torflex axles, where do you jack up camper to remove wheels. The owners manual says " place jack close to spring mounts on frame. I don't have leaf springs!!! Dexter says "do not jack up on axle housing". Where do I jack it up? Thinking on...
We are considering the high lift axle on our 19 as we plan on a least a few bumpy non-paved roads and more remote camping locations. Our TV will be a 2017 Tacoma. ETI let me know today that the lowest part of the trailer is the sewer tube at 11.5-12" off the ground for the regular axle and the...
I'm considering a 2017 Lacrosse 325REB and wanted to know if anyone new what the separation distance between the front tire and rear tire are on the EZTOW Suspension. Also, how does it tow and back up given it is 38'6" from tip to tip. They say Size Matters, but 38'6"?
I've looked all over the internet and gone all over this forum along with several others, being sure to not only use the search feature but to use google to aide in my searching. There are recommendations all over the place for various solutions but nothing definitive for my toy hauler.
2015...
So here is the the trailer axle's grease after 8129 miles and just over 1 year. This axle is Dexter's D52 series axle.Mounted on a FR Heritage Glen 337BAR.Dexter and Forest River call for a repack each year or 12,000 miles which ever comes first.
Hi All,
We just downsized to a smaller TT, but we stayed with FR/Flagstaff. This TT has the same wheel/lug/hub configuration as (I believe) several of the smaller TT's have. It has plain white wheels with plastic lug nut caps and this unit came with E-Z-Lube axles. These axles are great since...
Well, that was sooner than expected. I'm doing early spring maintenance on my '16 2650ws and found my axles with the oft reported tilt in their flanges. It wasn't horrible, about 1/4" on the front axle and 1/8" on the rear.
It's no wonder, as I broke them loose pretty easily with a standard...
OK, here goes...
We have have Cherokee Wolf Pup 16BH that I took into Camping World (where we bought it) to have some small warranty work done on as we just purchased it last spring and overall I was pleased with the progress as I was in no hurry and the Service Advisor was giving me regular...
On November 28, 2012, I posted about the axle upgrade I did to our 2007 Rockwood 8315SS.
Here is a link to that orginal post http://www.forestriverforums.com/forums/f68/rockwood-8315ss-axle-upgrade-32027.html
I am writing now to provide an update, 4 years after the modification was made...
I'll be getting a 2509S and want to add some large Heavy batteries.
The tongue weight will already be at max, so i was thinking of bolting a hanging battery box underneath by the axles. This way the weight isn't too forward. I will also have to insulate them so they wont get too cold.
The...
Dealer inspected axles after a problem with tires wearing. Found both axles out of tolerance. Reported to Forest River and frame contractor but no one wants to hear anything.
My new camper came with EZ Lube axles. I put 800 miles on the camper, plus however many miles for delivery (probably another 600 miles). I wanted to do an initial greasing, so I knew there was sufficient grease; I know they come prelubed from factory. As I spun the tire and pumped grease into...
Hello, this is our first travel trailer and I am not knowledgeable about these things. This is probably answered somewhere but I was unable to find it.
Will someone please try to help me understand exactly what the axle weight rating means and how it works?
Our tt is a single axle with a GAWR...
Hi folks,
I have noticed traces of oil/grease around the face of one of the wheels, doing a bit of investigation it appears this is caused but a worn seal or too much grease being inserted and excess dispersing. How can I work out if its just excess or an actual seal failure? If anyone knows...
