    Heated Floors?

We just returned from a 100 day trip ... WI to FL to TX/NM to WY back to WI. Started on December 28, 2018. After we left Florida it was "cool" and that's being kind even though we were in the south. Especially in the morning. I really, really wish had a heated floors. I like the idea of...

    New Steer tires: Three questions

Everything that's been written is pretty much what I've been lead to believe about truck and bus tires over the last seven years. While Michelin will warrant the tires for seven years, I know many many coach owners who will replace tires after five years. Like one of the poster's said ... the...

South Florida campground also the keys

A couple of years ago we stayed at Venture Out on Cudjoe Key. 22 miles from Key West. Nice place. It was hit very hard by the hurricane, so make sure you call to ensure they have open spots. Neighbors were nice. If Blue Water is the place I'm thinking about, they likely have a Class A...

    Fueling during the last trip.

My career was home mortgages and banking. Eight of the last ten years of my working life was spent in the Operation Risk department of the 22nd largest bank in the country with $65 billion in assets. The size of the bank and my responsibilities exposed me to the operational aspects, the risk...

    Heated Floors?

Former TC wannabe, now a Prevost bus conversion owner. We don't have heated floors in our coach. We do have a single Coronet 120 volt heater in the toe kick by the shower. Living in Wisconsin we often use the coach in cold weather; our record cold is 3 degrees in Green Bay and 2 degrees in La...

    Newbie...Does anyone recognize this truck?

The truck looks familiar. We crewed for an ARCA team for a while, that's where it might be familiar from. Did you plumb the fuel for the diesel generator at about the 1/4 tank mark?

    Fueling during the last trip.

We got it through AITA and the Prevost Community Forum. At Love's. Ten cents off the cash price. They ACH the money from your checking account the next day. There is a credit card option, which isn't as big as discount, but I can't remember exactly the deal they have. We use an AITA card at...

Looking at a truck conversion to buy.

Bob: Hope all is well. The Prevost conversion was built primarily as a seated coach to be used on a daily basis, six or seven days a week, 52 weeks a year. Second purpose is an entertainer coach with has to be reliable and make it from show to show WITHOUT fail or problems. Third is a high...

Looking at a truck conversion to buy.

We looked at the truck conversion in my original post back when it was for sale. Very, very well down. But my wife didn't like it. It was set up for what it was used for … a bunch of guys to go dirt late model and modified racing across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and the Dakotas. It was a...

    Fueling during the last trip.

Our M/H holds 208 gallons and at 8+ mpg we have a 1,600 mile range, realistically 1,400 less whatever the generator takes when we use it. We have a fuel discount card through another web site that gives us a discount off the cash price at Love's. The money is deducted a day or so after the...

    Frame Welding

If you have a bunch more to tap, try a cordless drill with (1) an adjustable torque clutch and(2) one that has really low volts. If you can find a Black & Decker VersaPak that uses 7.2 volts (two 3.6 volt batteries) ... that should be the ticket. Set the clutch "weak" and with the low volts...

    Any info on LEGEND Conversions

The devil is always in the details. Try to get into the walls and check the welds ... quick and dirty? or good beads. Look at the "components". Are they "good ones" or the "cheap ones". What kind of wiring does it have? Is the wiring and plumbing well supported? Is the wiring well...

45 foot T2000 Conversion with Camper

Good luck with your build. I think you're making the right decision to stay away from a motorhome. There are only a couple of motorhomes that could come close to handling a trailer that big and heavy. With all the stuff for sale on RacingJunk.com, I surprised you're building vs buying...

Conversion Weight on Semi back ?

As a previous poster noted, weigh each axle now. Then use weight and balance calcs to determine how the various stuff you put on the truck will impact the load on each axle. Anyone with a private pilots license should be able to help you with the math. Very simple once you've done it a few times.

    Motorcoach not for hire?

As a late friend often said ... "One drop of gasoline spoils the whole bucket of lemonade." There has been Saturday night dirt track racing at the Shawano (WI) Fairgrounds Speedway since the 60's (maybe the 50's). Racers come from all over Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan to race there. 15 or...

    graphics allowed on motorhome

I think the rule on "company graphics" and your motorhome being a commercial enterprise is like gasoline and lemonade ... one drop of gasoline spoils the whole bucket of lemonade. Putting your company name on the outside makes it a commercial vehicle ... CDL, DOT#, etc. etc. etc. Having...
