Coach in the Making Two - Putting ideas together

Mase - I dont think we need anymore hanging space. That wardrobe slide in the bedroom will have 2 full length closets on each end of the slide with 2 rows of draws in between. The bathroom also has 2 hanging closets with one on top of the other (one for each kid). No I want that dinette with...

Coach in the Making Two - Putting ideas together

Well my 2003 Show Hauler was sold today and in a way I am sad and relieved all at the same time. It was a incredible rig and who ever got it, got one hell of a deal and a awesome coach. But it is exciting to now get started on the new one. For those that have not read some of the other...

    Buying a New Garage Unit???????

Gary - Your right it should be the Fuller Auto Shift not Allison. But I do think that the Allison World Transmission which is a true full automatic will become more and more popular. I road in a Prevost Tour Bus with this tranny and a 500 hp Cummins and man that thing was smooth! Bill

    Buying a New Garage Unit???????

Rob - To get this thread back on track, owning this site has given me the privilege to talk to a number of people in the industry as well as many owners of conversions. All this along with owning a conversion for 2 years, I have seen and heard the good, the bad and the ugly. The biggest...

Rear Bumper questions for a class 8.

No bumper required when you have a back-up camera I think Peter is right, you hit anything with these and what ever you have back there is going to be pretty messed up. With a fiberglass rear cap, pop the old one off and pop the new one on. Sounds good anyway Bill

    Height/length issues

We are 40'L & 13'H and have squeezed our way into some pretty small campgrounds. My only problem was with towing a car. You can't back up with a car in tow. Never had a height issue, but did have a few small CG roads that gave me fits. Bill

Passenger seating in a class 8 motorhome questions.

I have 3 sets of seat belts on the couch and 2 sets on the dinette. At the dinette you can see out no problem. My kids are belted in at all times that the motorhome is moving except quick trips to the restroom or to grab a drink. I get car sick so I have to be driving or looking out the front...

Passenger seating in a class 8 motorhome questions.

Who are #'s 3,4,5,6? Are we talking kids or adults? If we are talking kids, don't even think about putting them in the cab with you. #1 they are not gong to want to be in the cab, they will want to be in back watching TV, eating, using the bathroom and just messing everything up. #2 They...

Window size, powered and natural ventilation questions.

We definitely run the ac's off the generator while traveling. Usually only need the front AC for the living area and I would run the cab AC for me. My 8kw diesel generator had 2 30 amp circuits and this was plenty of power for my setup. We did not have a inverter to run AC items off of coach...

2003 Conversion on International 4900 Chassis- 32' box.

I would find out what that DT-466 is rated at, that conversion could be really under powered. Forget ebay, go to racingjunk.com they have over 60 conversions on there and some at pretty incredible deals.

Absolutely! My current rig has approx 2,000 lbs tongue capacity if you go by the turnpike rules, and far above that based on the actual axle capacity. I'll never get close to that kinda weight, and I love the ride my current rig has. When I am lite (no water, no trailer, light on fuel, ect..)...

I should have specs on the M2 we will be looking at in a few days. I did learn that the M2-106 has a max tank size of 100 per side. But that doesn't work out very well for a motorhome since those tanks run longer than the cab. The most popular option are the twin 50's which end at the back of...

Gary - My FLD is 12'. Remember we had a 4' integral sleeper we cut off making the cab it's 12' length. The huge difference wont necessarily be the overall length, we will drop from 40' to 36' 8", but the wheel base will be the big difference. My current wheel base is 28'! Also the cut rate...

We are still in the very early stages of this, and I am trying not to get to far ahead of myself before the current rig sells. One nice thing is that the calls are heating up for mine and I think it should be sold very soon. Who ever ends up with it is going to get a incredible deal. Lonnie...
