This sounds logical. Big question, is your coach starter 12v or 24v?

    Expanding a sport

Sorry, he may be harsh, but he's right. There is your panel source. Kenn has a very detailed thread. I believe he has been almost 3 years with it, in an enclosed shop. Welcome to the site, have any pictures too share ?

I'd be surprised to see a bare ring terminal that size on anything but a ground.

3116 underpowered topkick blues, any ideas?

Try http://www.freewebs.com/nevrenufhp/ He really knows his mechanical engines. There are higher power options that can get to 300+ hp, not sure about chilling upgrades or head studs. He is working on one here Cat 3116 weak points to upgrade - TheDieselGarage.com but I would go that far on a...

New to the truck conversion world.

Maybe to lead you another way.... I considered what I think you are thinking. Smaller box for the people with an open deck for the toys, like an electrical/plumbing supply delivery truck(forklift h heavy stuff of off the back of the open deck). Then I thought, hmmm I just love working on a quad...

    Kenworth T300

Welcome! Depending on your people count,a crew cab would be nice. A sofa, table,TV setup might be nice instead. Horse trailers vary in size, how big is yours? I've seen big trucks with a second receiver welded in at the height for a gooseneck. Think bumper pull conversion. This also depends on...

Bought New Rear Tires (8) for my T/C

Yeah,I did the same thing with our trailer this spring. 6 tires were expensive, but a blowout on the road would've been worse.

    I would like your option

Unfortunately he has suffered a HPFP failure. When the pump decided it's tired of making 22-30,000 psi, or gets a dose of fuel it doesn't like, it explodes shrapnel all over the place. It's about the same cost (and less risk) to replace everything vs flushing. This means........ New fuel tank...

    inverter-converter?

I repair electrical controls for a living. As much as I hate too admit it, the more complex something is the greater chance of it breaking. If one half of the combo unit fails, you have to replace the whole thing. A stand alone inverter can be picked up at many auto parts stores, harbor freight...

    inverter-converter?

Yes. Personally though, I prefer separate inverter and converter/charger.

Recommendation on what truck to buy

Only problem I see is the overall length. 45´ + 30´ = 75´ I believe the maximum highway length in most states for an rv is 65' Yeah, sucks don't it. I have a 40' toy hauler+5' for 5th wheel clearance + 14´ planned back of cab = 7'of deck. Enough for a smart or a golf cart :-(

    good conversion candidate from ebay

Motor is rated low hp, probably a good sign. No idea how many miles. Two or three pedal trans? New member with one eBay point ! :( All negative feedback ! Reserve is how high? I personally don't do reserves, put your bottom price to start. Why do all of the pictures show it on an auction...

    Options for crapper pedestal covering?

We used that new vinyl plank, wood look flirting about 3 years ago. I've had oak and while it's nice, the vinyl is better in the kitchen and the bathroom.

    Singling short, real short

Got it. That hitch is something else ! I'm planning to drive load with winch backup so I'm not worried about below frame rail space.

You could do that, out would wear out the inverter faster, but you should be fine for years.

    Volvo 730 as RV Hauler

I'm saving for basically the same setup. You can single short and still haul the smart car. It actually helps to take weight off of the front axle.

    Singling short, real short

Here's the thought, the dos and don'ts sticky said that singling short leaves you at around 185" How much shorter can you go? The driveshaft can have the length off the sleeper shortened out of it, basically down to say cab length. One of the big hauler battles is front axle weight, this would...
