    rv freezers

In compartment 1, a 12" shelf next to the chassis batteries, in compartment 2 just enough room next to the inverter/charger to store hoses and shore cords. The holding tanks occupy compartments 3 and 4. The last compartment houses the generator.

Yes. Front is propane and house batteries. Rear is storage.

Quite to the contrary. I think it is our Renegade that is unconventional, having so little storage.

    Removing outside entertainment center

I am circling the idea of removing the outside entertainment center on our Renegade to afford some additional basement storage. We finally got our storage unit rented, so I will have a dry place to work on it, but I'd like to know what is back there before I start taking things apart. Has...

Wow Don! you really have the storage! If I had that much storage, my rig would lean to the curb side.

I am working on that. I only have one dedicated basement storage box. The DW is pushing to remove the outside entertainment center to free up some additional storage.

It is actually an old Norcold. I guess Dometic bought them or something. We've had this freezer's baby brother for years, dragging it in and out of cars, trucks, and boats. It has been from the mountains to the Gulf Stream. I was very pleased to raise that hatch and find the bigger one.

"OPT" switches on Freightliner dash - what do they do??!

I've been searching for other lights and such that might be activated by them. Thanks for the suggestions.

"OPT" switches on Freightliner dash - what do they do??!

Now with a few (very few) trips under my belt, I am trying to figure out some of the systems on the truck. The "OPT" dash switches are now vexing me! Renegade has plead the need for further research. Two Freightliner dealers haven't a clue. Nothing on trucker's report. I've even been...

    What is this?

I agree with Don. It bears a striking resemblance to this gizmo:Dometic WeatherPro Control Kit with Switch and Remote - Awning Parts & Accessories - Hardware

    Stacker questions

We used the axle straps this weekend. They were a pain to get on and off. I may be switching to the wheel straps, so I don't have to crawl under the car. I guess in an enclosed trailer you have to get down on the floor either way, since you can't work for the sides.

That is a nice trailer Bob. How do you go about strapping your vehicle down once you get it loaded?

    Stacker questions

Isn't it funny how two people can share the same experience and have a completely different take away? After having to drag a trailer through the rock lined serpentine roads of a small mountain KOA, I am over a trailer and want to revisit a toad. My DW, on the other hand, loved having the...

    Stacker questions

Blue Ox doesn't offer a baseplate for my pickup. They offered to fabricate a custom baseplate, but the cost and their requirement that I leave the rig with them for a week made that unrealistic at this point. Plus going to that trouble to drag a nearly 20year old truck down the road might be...

    Stacker questions

We need to take a car with us for our outing this weekend. I figure I will just strap the DW's Audi to my equipment trailer and drag it behind the truck. However, this has really gotten our wheels turning on a car hauler or stacker trailer. When we did our first test drive in this truck it...

    haulmark vs dynamax

The pre-forest river acquisition Dynamax motorhomes have a fairly strong following. I believe the one your are considering falls into that category. Because of that following, when I started shopping, I began with the Dynamax. I considered used units and the newer Force or DX3, after a test...

    Stuck between trucks

can WAZE be configured to be sure it doesn't re-route you onto roads difficult for a truck to navigate or where trucks are prohibited? I know it isn't the same, but we used a garmin dezl for a couple of trips in a rented c-class and it saved us twice from low bridges. *I went ahead and...

    Freightliner Service

I think you are right about the air pressure. I checked Michelin's inflation chart and they were pretty specific. A trip to the scales is definitely in our future. I think the oil is excessive too. Especially considering what I have read about these engine's very modest oil consumption...
