The vent may be fine, but where the gasses come out of the cap will be quite hot. That is where I see a problem, plus the location is not conducive to having it vent properly. Even if it does you will see a light tan to even a dark tan stain from the gasses. While the stain is normal, it is a...

The heater may be a zero clearance, the vent pipe is double walled, but the termination is where the gasses leave. The termination is where you are going to have a problem. All you need to do is extend the vent to get it above the body.

    2001 Freightliner FL70

I found out the other truck is a 1995 not a '97. Plus the 2001 is a cab and chassis with air ride on the rear. The way I put it on here it says something it is not. Sorry.......:o

I strongly recommend you lengthen the vent on it. You are going to have draft issues and you will be getting the wall of the camper real hot.

    2001 Freightliner FL70

I am posting this for my future Son-in-law. He has a 2001 FL70 with a 5.9 Cummins with an Allison transmission and air ride cab and chassis. I think it has 300k miles (not sure). He has a price of $10,000 on it but would probably negotiate. I don't have much info on it, but I can find out...

The lack of knowledge is something most of us can work through. It is the ones that *THINK* they know that cause the problems because they won't even try to see things from another perspective.

They would be a tremendous help for backing up at night. Once the cameras are operational you should be in good shape for night time operations.

The guy that claimed oil pressure problems idling was on Irv2. I go there to read, but find it harder and harder to post. I even had a guy tell me something was wrong with my mechanical 5.9 because it can smoke......

How about on another RV forum where one person tries to portray themselves as a commercial driver and claims the reason you can't idle the newer diesel engines is because there is not enough oil flow and the turbo will be run dry....
