    Looking for Toter

Try looking for - FLD112 or 120, or FLC112 or 120 (Century Class), these can be had just as cheaply as the mediums, and there is a far larger selection. Much stronger trucks, SAME fuel mileage, SAME price, SAME or better comfort level, due to air suspension, which most mediums do not have...

    2004 22' Conversion, 1989 Freightliner FLD 120 and 32' trailer on ebay.

I wouldn't mind the rig, though that cabover would be unceremoniously lopped off. That thing looks HIDEOUS! I wonder if he would sell the truck alone? I have NO need for the trailer.

    2005 38' United Specialties, 2 axle, 16' living 12'garage, 4.5k miles, $108K, on ebay

BD- I want NO garage. Have no idea on pricing. Can't tell if there is no bedroom from the pix, but I'd bet there isn't one. Couch and dinette positions are fairly typical from what I've seen, but reversed would work too. Gary

    2005 38' United Specialties, 2 axle, 16' living 12'garage, 4.5k miles, $108K, on ebay

Nice rig, seems like good price for the low miles. Not a bad deal in my eyes. More than I need though. Gary

    Where to Start

Plus, stay with a Class 8 rig, as they can be had as cheaply or LESS than a medium truck, besides there being a far greater selection to pick from.

2003 22' Pro Conversion on a 93 Freightliner with 715k miles, on ebay.

Hey BD- You make some good points. One other reason to avoid slideouts is cost; they add a LOT to it. Plus they are just something else to maintain, along with a propane system, which I ALSO don't want. I have yet to hear of an electrical leak causing asphyxiation or an explosion, if it's a...

2003 22' Pro Conversion on a 93 Freightliner with 715k miles, on ebay.

Hey, BD, whatitis! I love it when someone asks me a laundry list of questions. Rear bedroom- STARTING to think about it. The plan for the front is/was 2 center-facing sofas that could be made into beds, or 1 sofa and a traditional dinette. But the rear bedroom is starting to sound good, though...

2003 22' Pro Conversion on a 93 Freightliner with 715k miles, on ebay.

I've been hovering around 18'-20' on the coach, and putting it on either a Freightliner FLD112, Century 112, or Volvo VNM or VNL610. I just can't see having some outrageously long coach that would make the rig difficult to maneuver and park. Besides, we're CAMPING, fercryin'outloud! You do NOT...

2003 22' Pro Conversion on a 93 Freightliner with 715k miles, on ebay.

Tractor portion length is 120" or 10'. What told me this is that the truck is a Freightliner FLD120. The number in the model name indicates BBC or bumper-to-back-of-cab measurement. You will also see FLD112's which are 8" shorter. These numbers do NOT include any sleeper that may be built...

Comment #1: There is NO such thing as a 466 DETROIT DIESEL. It's an IH DT466. Answers: 1. I can't tell 2. Yes; I would have gone much larger 3. Me too

2000 26' Renegade on a Kodiak chassis with trailer on ebay.

That truck would be a pig running bobtail, forget the trailer....... But to answer your question, there is no answer, only a guess, because we can only assume the truck is over 26000 GVW with the load it is carrying with the coach alone, which would make it a Class 7. Only a guess, mind you. Gary

Brian- You might want to clarify one thing; there is no such thing as a Kenworth engine. You have your choice of Detroit, Cummins, or Caterpillar. Which is it? That IS a nice rig! Gary

Cabover Freightliner Argosy interior picture. Difficult entry from cabin to cockpit.

As long as our length laws are what they are (and I'm sure will be for quite some time) cabovers will remain "out of style" (as you put it) for just as long, thankfully. Their abbreviated length is their ONLY advantage, as the disadvantages FAR outweigh it.

    2 Bus Conversions. 2001 Newell 45' and a 2000 Bluebird 40' on ebay.

But unlike most motorhomes, uses bus-type (as in VERY stout)construction. But you are right; there is no such thing as a Newell "bus". They build a bus-type vehicle for motorhome use only.
