I don't like those re-transmitted signals tho. You have to find a clear frequency to set it to. Then when you come into a town that has a radio station working anywhere near that freq you get interference. Plus the sound quality isn't as good as a direct hard wired input. It sounds like you're loooking for a unit that has sat built in? I'm pretty sure the trucks all have a standard single din opening that should work fine for whatever radio you pick. For sure I'd also make sure it's got a front panel aux input. That makes it very easy to plug in the ipod. And if you just got one with that it's easy to plug in a external sat unit and have good sound and no interference. Then he can use his sat unit in other vehicles easily.
