Would you buy a made truck conversion made by an individual?

As I scan the internet for conversions, I occasionaly see custom made units that appear that they were made in a private persons shop space like a one off custom made, not massed produced like Showhauler, Haulmark, Trendsetter...

My question is, would you consider buying something like this and how does one evaluate such a build if you lack the experience to judge the persons experience or their work? In other words, is the machine built to modern specs so it doesn't catch on fire or self destruct as it goes down the road...?
