Hello all, I'm new to this forum, I play in a road band that is interested in converting a used semi into a stretched motorhome. We plan on it allowing us to pull a 20 foot trailer. We've gone threw 2 vans and they just can't hold up. My main question is this. Is it worth it. I own all the tools and know how to do most of the work myself. The other question, What all has to be done to make the vehicle fall into the Recreational catagory for insurance and licencsing. Thanks for reading and hope to hear from someone!

...since you are using it for transport of your band-it can't be an RV legally.....why would you want to kill off a generous tax break like a mass deduction for transporting your band to and from a gig anyway?...with a little creative bookkeeping and professional tax help-one could take off in the low $40k's if one worked one gig a week on the road..............wish I could take the total cost off on my tractor and trailer......I'm only allowed to take off a percentage of the cost because I use my rig for business and vacation and have to do very accurate accounting of all expenses.....[Which I hate!].....I'd get ready to spend in the neighborhood of $50k to get started.......geofkaye
