Having taken a quick trip to Atlanta this week I will post the fuel figures on this MDT subsite to keep the Class 8 guys form getting in a real snit.....Cincinnati to Atlanta down was 493 mmiles at 65 gallons of diesel at $1.359 or 7.52 mpg at 55-65 mph at 28,860 # GCVW.....return rip was 460 miles-39 gallons at 65-75 mph at 15,680 # or 11.55 mpg...at $1.559 a gallon...this works out to be about $...17 cents per mile trip average....I have a 2001 Chev 6500 steel 20' roll-back wrecker with a stinger 3126e Catapillar Eaton 6 speed and 3:70X1 rear axel with 10:00X22.5 tires-was pulling a U-Haul trailer 6X12 loaded to max and a Honda up on the deck loaded with clothers and other crap.....Cat Scales ticket was 25,860 fuel tanks filled with me my coon hound .....10 hours down[Lexington bridge repair] and 8 hours back.....all weight stations by-passed me through....geof in Cincinnati
