So my Xantrex Basic remote start that came with my Renegade never worked as long as I have owned it. So we have done well with out it, but instead of leaving the Gen running for the dog... I was thinking about getting a replacement. That way it wouldn't run as much....maybe.

So what are your thoughts about them and experience?

What type of xantrex do you have? I want to upgrade my renegade and I'm kinda shopping around. How may batteries do you have and what all does it power up without the generator?

Here is a picture of mine, and I have found some disconnected wires and I a feeling they are part of the system. I was hoping for some input on the other models. When I pick the one, of course I'll be the one installing, so I want to cover temp, low voltage, and what ever else they offer. So do Bottomland do you have one at all or will it be a new install? If its new, it's going to be a bear running the wires to the thermostat, I don't believe the gen start will be hard, I have a remote start switch right above my auto start.

That could be fun Bottom! Here is I guess the latest model, https://xantrex.factoryoutletstore....t.html?category_id=83073&catalogitemid=161764
And you can use with the AGS batteries and the inverters that they have. I haven't gone to that yet, If my Refrigerator dies I could see me putting in an residential model.
I forgot to answer your battery question too, I have 3 deep cycle, replace 2 this year and 1 about 1.5 years ago.

Frustrating things about this site - sometimes you don't see new posts.

I know Sam doesnt have an Onan QD GenSet but for someone that does some of this may help:

I have an Onan QD10k and use a wireless remote start (EC30W) -

The EC30W is programable and will start the gen if one of several different conditions exist.
The EC30W (wireless) remote has a bulb temperature sensor - so....

If it gets too cold or too hot inside the coach it can start the generator (assuming theres no shore power).

it also monitors the coach/house battery voltage and will start automatically to recharge the batteries & it even has a programable quiet time (to prevent starting late or after hours).
