    53' Box Trailer Conversion

Why exactly can you not pull a semi trailer with an RV hitch? Because it tilts side to side and runs a risk of not having clearance at the tires? That's disappointing news... I was really hoping to use a standard dry van because they are readily available and I'm on a tight budget...

    53' Box Trailer Conversion

Thank you for all your thoughts on this! I did not realize that the removal of the commercial 5th wheel was required in some states. I’ll be checking that out for PA because I was thinking about pulling with the original hitch for a while until I could afford installing something more forgiving.

    53' Box Trailer Conversion

Could you elaborate on that more? I can't find any info on it. Are you talking about hooking up your RV to a semi truck's original hitch? That's not allowed in some states?

    53' Box Trailer Conversion

Thank you, Dave! Your thoughts are very helpful. They address a lot of issues that I've wondered about a lot during my design stage. My design has a good amount of interior walls, so I believe that the problem would be minimized by that alone. Plywood reinforcement on those walls will help...

    53' Box Trailer Conversion

I'm looking to convert a 48 foot for lots of traveling. What should I be looking for so it doesn't "fall apart"? Air ride suspension? I was thinking wood framing like Mudcat's and pine boards (nailed and glued) for the interior.

    What to polish with?

ZEP Wet Look Floor Polish? If you're talking about using the ZEP Wet Look Floor Polish, I just want to mention that I did it and I'm not 100% impressed with the results. I'd like to try some more traditional polish next time. It's true...ZEP wasn't too bad, but I've had some places where it has...

newbee from New-B(runswick) Canada (get it?)

I'm hoping to convert a dry van some day as well. Somehow I'll have to add a basement to it for extra storage and waste tanks. I'm not sure if it would be better to get a trailer that already has some storage compartments underneath, or to custom build something. How do you plan to handle this?

    45' moving van conversion

I'm looking to do the same thing. I haven't really found many dry van conversions on the internet either. The conversion I'd like to do won't be able to happen for a few years yet, but I plan to document the whole thing when it's time.
