    German Bus

Well, it might be the manual in german, or the lien sale that could give problems. MAN itself, chassis, engine will live forever. Many of the real expedition offorad vehicles use MAN diesel. If I remember right, the lowfloor extra long airport busses here at LAX were (or still are) MAN busses.

    Chariot Motorcoach

Try www.championrv.net. Its a dealer here in Socal that used to sell United Specialties and stacker trailers. I thught he uses Chariot as his own brand, sort of like Becks Marine with Legend, but I stay corrected after checking on racingjunk. check out...

Gulfstream came out with their sunroom design in 2005. Have not seen it on other (production) motorhomes yet.

Cool idea - must be a pretty loooong sports car though to fill out the whole side.

CA DMV Recreational Vehicles and Trailers Handbook link.

Sorry guys, thats WRONG. In CA, you can drive ANY HOUSECAR UP TO 40FT in lenght, and tow up to 10K with the standard class c license. What you read on page 4 of the document is OR.OR.OR. either 2 axle up to 26K, OR 3 axle up to 6K, OR ANY HOUSECOACH UP TO 40FT. So, length does matter...

2003 41' Showhauler, Freightliner Chassis, 236k miles, on ebay.

I agree with Gary that these high roof fairing look disgustingly ugly. But one guy told me he had rather them damaged at a low underpass, tree hanging down.... then the equipment (A/C, satelite,...) on the roof. Well, that sort of makes sense too.

    Weight retrictions

Right Gary, right and the slide out used to be on the curb side only and their argument was "for safety" so it does not stick out on the drivers side and gets hit if you are parked on the side of the road with the slide out.

    Weight retrictions

I remember reading 1,2 years ago that Powerhouse at that time just put a (Thor ?) traveltrailer/5th wheel on the Volvo chassis. That would explain these entrance steps, as the TT would be totally flat and just put on the flat chasis without cut out for the steps. Also would explain the "weak...

    Length Limits

Well, i though its rather clear. For example in CA 65' is 65'. period. Different for some special combos, cottonpicker, log trucks.. stuff like that. BUT.. 65 is total lengh (if you look they do not count collapsable bumpers in some instances, same as they dont count awning and safetly...

    Elburn Bill at Pomona FMCA?

You can run, but you cant hide... How many purple Volvo Kinglseys are there? Did I see you today around noon on the I-10 heading West close to Pomona? Unfortunatley I was in car pool lane so I could not check out your rig up close.

So that was you and your dog then last time at LAX who was looking for the salami in my bag? Oh wait, it was a small beagle and a female asian handler... well.. Anyway, I admire your dog (and you) for what he is doing. My lab and aussie are useless. All the find are dead birds and try to chase...

    Fuel Mileage

Well, you were the one who made an episode out of a simple remark I had made. I am sure there are more than 3 guys from CA on here, and I sure hope they are all different people and not one. I would suffer serious multiple personality disorder otherwise.

Pay no sales or property tax on next vehicle purchase. Scam or truth?

Bravest Dog, I would not play with CA, one of the worst states. Many threads on this subject on rv.net and others. And as already stated even the attorney will refer to your own state laws. For CA its tough. If you spend more than 2 (or 3, not quite sure) weeks here you are supposed to get CA...

Now here is a real conversion

Bill, I think it might be the Actros over there, just by looking at the specs and pics. I never actually looked at the name plate when one drove by me. Actros is their most heavy duty one with up to 40 tons, (88,000 lbs). Of course we would have to go for the special edition "Black Edition"...

Now here is a real conversion

Bill... interesting what they told you in the email as on their webpage they say: "Our tilting cab system comes as standard at no extra cost. " Guess they have different ways. Also they mention they built on Mercedes and MAN chassis, but the pics show Scania and DAF (the smaller one). So I...

Building my own, more trouble then its worth?

Thanks Gary and Chevy57. Yea, there is a meaning to (,) and (.), sometimes even to ";" and (!) so to make it clear for Marc: I did not see a single conventional cab. I saw COE only. And I am sorry I did not say "on my trip to Europe" but I confined it to Austria. Although I am sure that...

Building my own, more trouble then its worth?

Who said in europe its 3 to 1 ratio COE to conventional? I just came back from a 2 week trip back to Austria (17 degrees and lots of snow) and I saw NOT A SINGLE conventional, COE only. Its amamzing. Unless you talk about small class 5 or 6 maybe. Had I more time and known of "action mobile"...

    How tall are ya ?

Well, I was thinking while ago about a "high tech" way, but never did anything. A back up camera turned around, sitting on top of the roof, AC, whatever your highest point is. There should be a way to use the grid on the monitor for clearance, how many inches are left.. or, if your monitor...

    2005 30' Haulmark, M2 Chassis, 7.5k miles, $135k on racing junk.

I understand all your displeasures with the smaller engine and 6 speed. BUT, is not that the same set up as warpath has? Or I seem to remember he had/has the 12 speed and mentioned in one of his posts that for this engine he actually preferred the 6speed?

Hey guys... it says "more than" 200... so that could be like 2000000.... Also, I saw it says delivery in 2007. Maybe by that time fuel is sooo expensive you only can afford 200 at a time?

Really nice coach, I do like the interior. But the color change from bright red on truck to totally white on box does not look good.
