This is how you jump a truck!

Geof "jumping does not hurt....its the landing that somtimes $ucks" its all about shocks (suspension dampening) and timing; if your car suspension is set up right and your timing is ok the jumping (or landing) can be very smooth (if one thing is off....it will hurt and /or will be expensive...

    How much HP/Torque

Rick A where are you located and where do you travel? IMHO towing here in the west i would recommend to set the bar a little higher i personaly like one of the bigblocks (like the Cat C15 or Cummins N14/ISX) set at its base setting of ~430 hp/ 1500+ lbs torque. superior power for the monster...

    Questions about project truck

onegreatsteak..... (hmmmm...im getting hungry just reading your name ) ... here is what (i think) i know about transmissions: do not get a truck with a Rockwell 9-speed; a pain to shift even for a pro driver. i personaly would look for a Eaton/Fuller box: a Autoshift, a Super10, a 13-speed or...

Using hydraulic rams to level Motorhome w/ garage

Kirk here are some pics: one of the hyd rams; something like 3.75"x 26" and frigging heavy...its a two-way cylinder ; no return spring to brake/loose the 4 tank/pump/solenoid boxes; can be mounted direct onto the ram or remote...gives you a lot of ram placement freedom. there are heavy...

    Peterbilt 387 Motorhome

Yea, that and another about 140K.... Thanks for detailed info. As you mentioned the truck will spend most of its time with trailer and in desert, why did you remove the twin? Needed more basement space? Or you do not need the extra traction and rear axle capacity? </div></BLOCKQUOTE> WalliK...

    Peterbilt 387 Motorhome

Vapoppa this one is not as fast as yours she has 3.55 and the very plush "Pete low air leaf" rears...will cruise at 1300 rpm/65mph. we need to have the Autoshift reprogrammed for RV use (starts in 2nd and does not skip gears) but thats no big deal i love the C15; easy hits 75mph on a average...

    Peterbilt 387 Motorhome

WalliK right now the plan for the masterbed is to have it open (SS railing for safety) with only a small wall in the area of the bunk bed. may change when we get closer to building that area. remember, this is not a truck for full-time camping; it is more like a high mobile (and fast moving )...

    Peterbilt 387 Motorhome

oh no .... its a lot less ...it depends on things like the truck used as a base, size of diesel genset, style of waterheater (the diesel "Aquahot" water and room heater is $6k+ alone ) size and style of AC,.....this one will be well under $200k
