Oh oh, I started some trouble on behalf of truck conversions

So your the great messinger coming to let everyone know about TC's? Well your too late any RV'er going down the road (any kind) has seen a TC. They are well represented at any RV show, racing events, heck they are not that uncommon at CG's. My point is no one needs you to "spread the word" on...

    Are block heaters necessary ?????

I don't have a TC I have a DP. Specifically I have a 40' Safari powered by a CAT C12 with no block heater. My motor home friends say I don't need a block heater but they all have smaller diesels than mine. I'm thinking lots on this BB have larger diesels and would be more in the know. I just...

    More goof ball questions

Thanks Richard. I have seen a lot of new units with various wheelbases on FL Columbia's and I am happy to know NEW units can be built on chassis supplied by the mfg without mods. I was picturing a process like stretching a car to make a limo-I've seen a few sagging in the middle.

    HP ratings

I'm familiar with smaller Cats and Cummins used in diesel pushers-most well under 500HP. Even million dollar buses seem to be limited to 500HP due to cooling and transmission limitations. I've heard with trucks you can have as high as 600HP. Which Mfg and How many liters is it ?

    More goof ball questions

Thanks in advance for your patience. First question: When Showhauler or Haulmark etc. builds a MH with say a 24'-32' box do they order the tractor with that wheelbase or do they have to stretch brand new trucks to make those long wheelbases?

    Attn: truck experts

Gary, thanks for the reply. Do I understand correctly that conventionals "have to" have the stacks verticle ? I'm thinking I've seen some class 8/conversions with the exhaust running under the coach to the rear/side.(exe. Dynamax Grand Sport Columbia)

    Attn: truck experts

New member first stupid question- Why don't any class 8 Mfg's build a wide body cab ? I'm currently a class A'er with an eye on truck conversions and I'm stuck on the little cab room compared to my DP. Aren't they all set up to pull a 102" wide load so why not build the operator compartment that...
