    Tours of Renegade and NRC

Agreed.. I'm happy to see thriving businesses! By the way, Showhauler has a group on Facebook and they sometimes do 50+ picture build albums, and you can see every step of the process. Theirs seem like a pretty high quality setup as well, but no 1st hand experience.

    Storage: Found some

My friend's shop (30x50) is using infloor with a residential style on-demand HWH - typically if we're going to be working in the shop, he'll set the temp the night before from 40 up to 55. One day we forgot, and I remember it taking ~2 hours before I started to feel anything. The infloor also...

Converting a toterhome to a full T/C motorhome

Most all of the HDT guys on the escapees site have their 5th wheel several feet behind the rear axle - helps it behave more like a tag trailer, and makes maneuvering and backing better. Just another perspective..

    Pics: Basement Fridge Freezer

Gonna be tricky to get to while goin' down the road though... a strong rope and someone good on rollerblades should do the trick, though. ;) Seriously though, looks good! I wasn't real keen on then initially, but realized they're great to not have to go in and out of the coach a thouand...

    In the design stages

I'd bet ya it wouldn't take much water to get you under your 12k limit, since any weight behind the axle will help lever weight off the front. just guesstimating, (it could be calculated if needed), but I'd bet 50 gallons of water would get you under. This I can't say for certain, but I'd bet...

    In the design stages

When I was talking with the rep from Renegade the other day at the RV show, he mentioned that If I wanted to supply my own chassis for a conversion, to factor in a few thousand $ to stretch the frame, and a few thousand $ for a 16k front axle. It appears they MFG's are paying more attention to...

    2012 ShowHauler - Floorplan

Finally got to see a Showhauler at the Hershey show.. I was quite impressed with the fit & finish - Every bit as nice as the Kingsley, and better materials than the Haulmark we drove. I really like how they were totally open to hearing ideas about what we'd like in something... Interesting to...

    Expandable truck

I agree, and yeah, they are doing it, but personally, I'd rather have only electrical moving in and out, rather than electrical, hot/cold water, and grey water. Just more to go wrong over the long haul.

    Noob to truckconversion.net!

OK, now that's cool! LS7, or something with similar dimensions?

    Frame Welding

instead of sliding the hitch up and down, what about over-riding the height control for the airbags on the rear axle, pumping them up to max? (Or, it's a great reason to install a set of levelers (Like a Bigfoot or similar system), and extend the rears way out!)

    2012 ShowHauler - Floorplan

VERY nice! Personally, I'd give a lot of though to ditching the curbside sofa and extending the kitchen countertop/cabinets to give you more "prep" room... But your priorities may be different.

A trip to Showhauler - Wow!

Warpath - Those light switches are a "big deal" to me, and something I forgot to mention in the other thread... It's a multiplexed switch setup. There's usually an "ALL OFF" button in the bedroom that will kill every light in the coach (no more forgetting that one out near the galley), and...

    Building T/C for Fuel Ecomomy

I dunno.. well taken care of? yeah, maybe. But they live a TOUGH life. From the moment they're started, they're WOT, and then they idle for a long time, and then WOT again, then shut off. Just food for thought.

    Toterhome Frame/Box Question

There's also Transport Designs in Montoursville, PA - They built a gorgeous setup for Donnie Barnes from the Escapees forum. Hawk does some amazing work too, but being in MD, Montoursville is a 5 hour drive.

I'm Back! Did you miss me?

Wow.. Welcome back! Please don't do a LoneStar.. it'll make me want one so much worse than I do now! Honestly, I don't see the reason for the bunks over the cab. with a bedroom, pull out sofas, etc, how many do you really need to sleep? But what it does kill is your cab headroom, makes you...

damm it: cant find Awning control

What about one of those tone generator things? You attach it to a wire, and then the field it creates is picked up by a handheld receiver, and you can follow the wire.. If needed, I can try and find a link to one..

    Cab-over conversion?

One of the mandates of my idea would be that the cab would NOT become an integral part of the coach, and that it would still tilt. The grey coach doesn't not have this feature anymore, but the red one does.

    Cab-over conversion?

yeah, I remember that one, but that's why I said "Not the spaceship one".. but it looks like these guys already made one or 2... FREIGHTLINER ARGOSY CABOVER ,CALL (817) 710 5209 2006 FREIGHTLINER ARGOSY,2011 FREIGHTLINER ARGOSY,1999 FREIGHTLINER ARGOSY,2003 FREIGHTLINER ARGOSY,2005...

    Cab-over conversion?

And no, NOT the spaceship looking one. Was looking at this truck:2000 Freightliner Argosy | eBay It got me wondering.. Losing the ~8' of nose would give you another 8' of coach. So what was once a 9' garage could now be a 17' garage, and one might still be able to have a separate bedroom...

    Hello All

Bill, First off, thanks for your service.. I think one of the Renegade style rigs would probably meet your needs perfectly, in that most all of them (and many others, but Renegade are some REALLY nice HDT's!) have a permanent bunk over the cab, perfect for a kiddo of that age, and it's at the...
