Looking south into Arizona. The fence post 10' in front of the truck is the Utah/ Arizona border. Camping spot is about 6.25 miles east of the South West corner of Utah.
Yes they are. There are 2 sets of pillars that surround the building. They were supposed to support a track that would allow the windmill generator face into the wind. I guess the person building it ran off with the money and this is as far as the construction went.

I caught up to this family while on the Rings Loop Trail. I thought that I would include this photo to give a reference to the amount of climbing that is required on the trail. They were coming down and I was heading up.
There is a 10 foot section at the end of the slot canyon where you use these rings to climb out. It wasn't to bad of a climb and I have a bad right hip.
