    My king pin posts did the same thing, make sure you take the top hat off and inspect the posts. My failed with no notice. My hitch is for sale

    I've owned the same hitch (still have it but don't use it). The king pin posts underneath the top hat - stress crack and failed on me. Make sure you inspect them often.
