My wife and I popped up at the top of Lizard Head Pass after enjoying the final day of the "Telluride Blues and Brews Festival." The next morning was pretty darned brisk. Nice having a furnace in those conditions!

There are some tower remains just before the trading post atop some large boulders beneath the western end of Cannonball Mesa. There are also some up Yellowjacket Canyon north of the trading post.

Nice shot! The Hovenweep towers are very cool. There are remains of similar structures in nearby McElmo Canyon.

We took a drive up the coast from Arcata, CA to Bainbridge Island, WA in 2007. We had one day of blue skies during this August trip. The locals assured us that we needed to come back in June or September. Ooops. The blue sky day was at Cape Perpetua and Yachats, a very cool little town. Lotsa...

As people from the semi-arid Southwest, the Oregon Coast is a pretty damned amazing place to us. I guess it is (or should be) to everyone.

Oceanside is a cool little town just south of Cape Meares. Can't remember the name of the place, but there's a restaurant on the main drag that backs to the beach. They serve AWESOME Willapa Bay Oysters.
