    Are block heaters necessary ?????

i don't know if this relates to block heaters at all, I am not too familiar with big diesels, but I know that most of the big motors dont even have glow plugs, its just hot air that gets pushed into the cylinder or something. Maybe they are such high compression they dont even need glow plugs or...

    Air ride on cab

Yep, ours definately has air ride or shock absorbers. you can feel it move seperatley from the box when you drive, and you can see it when you look underneath the cab.

    Air ride on cab

Pretty sure all Showhaulers have the air ride attached still. At leas there are shock absorbers there, its definately not a solid mount.

Help me identify this conversion by the interior.

that thing is soo nice! unfortunately I can't tell what kind it is, and that is very weird how the floor in the cab is so much lower. It must be built on a smaller chassis such as an M2. that, plus maybe the floor is raised to allow taller basement storage underneath, rather then the smaller...

yeah that stuff is pretty potent. I know I read the label once on the straight toluene, and it says it causes birth defects, brain damage, cancer, the whole shebang....same with the traffic paint we use...and to think I get that stuff on my hands all the time, probably not a good thing...

    ShowHauler problems

the overhang is not that bad, I think I measured it around 12', but I know that on our past motorhome it was about the same. we have scraped maybe twice so far? But thats only because the wheels at the back stick down 6" lower then the rear bumper. What's the exhaust problem?

    ShowHauler problems

woooow, sounds like your rig is NOT in very good shape! we didn't get any invoices for the warranty work performed but we did get it in writing what they fixed and how they fixed it. That noise you hear when the motor home levels is definately not music to your ears. I often wondered what it...

    Where to Start

If you are trying to keep cost down I would suggest something like a freightliner M2 or an older FL80. 300 hp, 860 ft.lbs. It all depends on waht you want to carry and how big of a box you want. I'd steer clear from a box truck unless you can find a half decent automatic one. It would suck to go...

1998 Kingsley 40' on a 1994 International Chasis on ebay.

Nice looking interior, i would like to see a brand new kinglsey coach in person. Kingsley is the best at joining the full height chassis to the box. Pretty much seamless. Most others just look like a box has been slapped on, not too apealing for a quarter mil.

my dad is a line painter and when we get traffic paint (lead based, tough ****) on anything we use Tolulene (toluene?) to get it off. That stuff will take teh chrome of a trailer hitch! Not literally but it will definately take the graffiti off, hands down.

Do slideouts have a manual overide in case they get stuck in an out position?

yeah, the wires are cut. It is visible. Tried to fix it, went to replace the fuse and it blew instantly, so something is shorting it out.

    ShowHauler problems

that's funny you mention the aluminium popping off. It has happened to 2 of our panels. a friend of ours bought a showhauler 2 weeks after we did and they had teh same problem. Sure enough our dealer said "we've never heard of this problem before". Our slideout power feed cable has been cut...

Do slideouts have a manual overide in case they get stuck in an out position?

our slideout on our showhauler broke and we have been cranking it for 2 weeks now. No big deal really. flick the power switch off and crank it in or out. Done.

    proud new owner

well after much debate, discussion, border problems, and serious anxiety, we finally got our new rig. 22/13 ShowHauler side entry garage coach. Can't get over how good the thing rides, its crrrrazy. Defnately happy with it thus far. First trip we got 11 miles to the gallon, thats better then...

    BBC dim. clarification.

just wondering why a moho w/ a 30' box on a columbia is considered 41', when the BBC (bumper to back of cab, right?) is either 112" or 120", which is 9'4" or 10'. shouldn't it be 40' only?

    M2 suitable for this application?

I take it you must have used the M2112 and not the M2106? Or can you get the M2 106 w/ twin screw?? Doesn't say so in my brochure. The FL brochure is terrible, information wise.

    M2 suitable for this application?

Gauldy is actually my trainer. He's a super nice guy and he can certainly ride bike, let me tell you. He is working on getting into Sx next year for speed, thats his goal anyways. He is way better then Denny Stephenson and that other meathead they got announcing. I won't be running the 250...

    the Skinny on Optima...

I don't have any new info, but I was looking at their site again today and man are they ever gorgeous! and I know what you mean about the customize thing. Thats the beauty of a truck conversion. I see that for 2006 Haulmark must have come out with some new floorplans or the option to...

    M2 suitable for this application?

yah I race the MX series up here. I just moved up to Pro this year so we'll see how it goes. I have been living in Georgia since January. Kevin Boyle of Concept Haulers actually lives at the same facility as me (well, his kids actually), kinda cool. I was in Texas for a month travelling around...

    the Skinny on Optima...

What's their deal? Their rigs look super nice and probably some of the most quality/luxury interiors I have ever seen, so why is it that no one is ever talking about them? The price of them isn't too steep, considering it's aluminium. They have good ideas, slick looking, everything. So..what is it?

    M2 suitable for this application?

The prices seem high because they are quoted in Canadian dollars. the $90,000 is for a 30' box, fully finished inside. The 200 gallons of water is because when you are stuck parked in a cow field (pretty much) for a week and you are washing bikes all day and 4 ppl showering everyday you will...

    M2 suitable for this application?

My father and I are looking into building our own conversion. We have a van body manufacturer that is going to do most of the big work for us. The chassis we are looking at is the M2. We do not want a full on semi, but rather something along the lines of an F-750, similar to our Endura's 5500...
