I was thinking of a shield by the transmission, but was not sure if it was really needed. I used autodesk inventor and took a srceen shot then imported it to deneba canvas and added the text and highlights. Inventor is a 3d cad program which has really helped in planing of my conversion.

How close can the exhaust pipe be to the fuel tank and transmission when you have a 100gal fuel tanks on each side. I have a few inches of clearance from the transmission, fuel line and fuel tank.
