    Questions for WARPATH

After working with the factory via several phone calls (twice with sales department, three times with the parts area) they've gotten better. Why did I talk with them so often? I bought some inserts to use in the interior walls to bolt things in, I bought extra floor tiedowns and the support...

Court rules: big rig not RV in Ca.(2nd article)

The article mentions he has all the required facilities on the truck to be classified as a MoHo. Does he have a Toterhome or did he add all that to the original sleeper? Sounds as though this applies only to vehicles with a fifth wheel setup? IMHO (which doesn't count for much ) their rational...

Truck Conversions are alive and well at NHRA races

When we attend the NHRA races in Pomona I find myself spending two hours during the day in the sportsman pits checking out the "rigs", a couple of hours in the Pro pits, and the rest of the day watching races. I've asked several of the conversion owners if I can check out their vehicles ...

    More ground clearance needed??

Other accommodations include: hitch height, fifth wheel to bed clearances, if you replace springs ... weight rating and progression rate, are their still overload springs, changes in handling (pitch and roll).

    More ground clearance needed??

I hate to sound so ill informed but can you really dump the air and still move these vehicles? I thought you could only dump the air when you're stationary ... that's cool if you can

    More ground clearance needed??

Oh, I'm not bashing those that need to accomodate higher vehicles in general, just those that make them higher without thinking about the repercussions

    More ground clearance needed??

Geez, that'd be even better if you could adjust ride height even if it's based on speed, kinda like changes are allowed below 10 MPH thing. My hobby has me parking on "road base" parking areas that sometimes have less than stellar flatness, hence my interest in a bit more ground clearance. I...

    1998 Peterbuilt 385

I think one was listed as a '99 and the one with the Freedom trannie is listed as a '03.

    More ground clearance needed??

Using your picture you linked to is a good example. I keep thinking the height along the sides should be a parallel line equal to the centerline of the front and rear axles. Given the wheelbase, I'd think even another 4 or five inches would be much better than the height of the unit in the...

    Why so many gears?

So the more gears you can keep the RPM per gear within 300 to 400? That would lead me to assume that given most conversions are a lot lighter than an OTR truck/trailer you can get away with fewer gears because you don't work the motor nearly as hard and can wider the "optimal" range. For me...

    More ground clearance needed??

I see a number of conversions with minimal ground clearance on the sides. Given the length of these vehicles does this pose a problem with driveways, transitions into some camping areas, etc.? One thing that may drive this is the size of the generators they install on the side. Others thoughts?

I've been researching for a couple of years ...

I stumbled on this site a few days ago and found it interesting in that the info presented here took me hours and hours to locate on various sites all over the web. I toyed with the idea of getting a truck conversion MoHo after seeing many of them at the NHRA drag races in Pomona a couple...

    Why so many gears?

Given they offer 6, 10, 13, and 18 gears (and others) in the trannys why are so many needed and why the large range in numbers? Is it the limited RPM range of these large engines? Are the trucks with fewer gears more suitable to lower weights?
