Upgrade from 13.5k air conditioner to 15k

16 amps is the maximum loss for a 20 amp branch circuit. If it's a 20A breaker and #12 wire, you'll be fine.

The Freon can't be checked as they don't have pressure taps. Check the amp draw of the unit you're looking to buy,I can't see it drawing that much more. Post it and I'll let you know.

    Solar panel setup

Here is my in laws reply: I now have about 250 watts of solar panels (not enough yet). I need another 100 watts. I now have 4800 cranking amps. That is about the right amount. Likely equivalent to 480 amp-hours.

    Solar panel setup

My in laws have a permanent boondocking setup in Canada. I'll check with him and see what he is running. He has the panels on the roof of a shed and the batteries and inverter inside of it.

    Rv park parking issues?

Hello, Just to be honest,I do not have a HDT, but we have decided that we need to upgrade our 1 ton that hauls our 40´ toy hauler. I'm looking for actual experiences here. Some of the people I've met have told me: "You won't be able to fit that in some parks" (yeah, like my 40' 5er fits in...

    5th wheel hitch placement

I'm wondering, could the wheels (being wider than the pickup trucks that made the ruts) be wandering into the ruts. I've experienced this on dirt roads where the track width was wider or smaller than what I was driving. Now if you're talking wash boarded roads, that's different. It could be...

Hay Bushpilot, how about this for a deleted post:

Good email, but you sound more like you're pushing for a separate sub forum than allowing an open discussion on the existing one. Either way, it's a waste of electrons. I'd be surprised if they even bother to read it. But we appreciate your trying to help out folks that have no clue. Shame...

Take it from a guy that's been a full timer for 17 out of the last 20 years, that does all of his own maintenance. There is much truth in what bushpilot says. I get a kick out of it when, say a dometic part fails and people start taking bad about their Fleetwood......... What? Didn't you know...

Oh, burst my bubble.......I was going to make one into the best fifth wheel toter ever ;) Bob, funny thing is you never questioned which forum it should be in. Some guys ____ are so small they get offended quickly. A good mod would not get bent out of shape, move it or leave it. Deleting a post...

    2000 VOLVO RV HAULER

I love the for sale posts with no prices. Throw out a number and see what offers come your way. It's the same when I see an eBay item with a reserve. Just put the starting price at your minimum, you can also accept offers on eBay of it doesn't sell.

Hauler bed, to slope or not?

Thanks Bob. I was planning on putting the hitch all the way back for those reasons. I've found K&W makes flat hauler beds.

Hauler bed, to slope or not?

Question, Why are most Texas hauler beds sloped in the rear? I'm not talking a beaver tail to load from, just a slope on either side of the hitch. Pickup truck beds are flat and square with no contact issues. Typically the 5th plate sits a few inches below the bed rails.
