    Drive shaft angle/vibration question

Hey Hot rod and Asitool, Yes you interpreted me correctly, my first 2 drive shafts go down and my final one goes up! When I have built chassis for racing this is a no, no, but never did one on a truck so didn't know if you could get away with it or not! I think the fab shop that did the work...

    Drive shaft angle/vibration question

Hi all, I had the frame stretched on my Kenworth T2000. I had 8 feet added to the wheel base and installed a 26' box on the chassis behind the sleeper. A place out in Gurnee, Il area did the frame stretch and driveshaft work. I am questioning the way they did the drive shafts and wanted...

    United specialties inc

I saw Tom's custom coach advertise on racing junk. They were advertising 16' toter boxes built on your truck for $40k, complete with AC, fridge, toilet, shower diesel gen. I called and talked with him a bit as I wanted to have him possibly do mine. Sounded like a good guy but after several...

45 foot T2000 Conversion with Camper

Thanks for the input on the tanks. I have the cab air ride limit limited to 1 1/2 inches of travel which I believe the accordion boot will be able to accommodate. As far as buy or build, I guess I will know when I am done what I would have should have done! I had a couple opportunities to buy...

    newbie with questions toy hauler

I believe DOT is correct. However if you do as Gordy states, put 3 or 4 of the items in your truck it can then be licensed as an RV/Motorhome and then depending on the state you live in you don't need a CDL license. I live and travel in the Midwest, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana. I installed a...

45 foot T2000 Conversion with Camper

Frame is stretched and Box is on Plans changed a bit, what else is new! Originally I had planned on installing the travel trailer directly to the frame of the truck. After further review of the construction of the travel trailer I was not confident the travel trailer would stand up to the...

    frame lengthening

I bought my frame rails from a local truck junk yard, Hribar Corporation They are located off of HWY 94 in the Racine, Wi area. By the looks of your profile, you are in the California area? I would search for a truck junk yard in the area or contact a fabrication shop. Depending on how long...

    frame lengthening

Pretty much if not all the frames will say don't heat/drill etc. on them. The top and bottom part of the "C" is a definite no no as far as drilling heating. The vertical part of the frame rail as long as it is done within reason is not really an issue for adding aditional holes. (provided you...

    How/where to learn?

Sounds like you need to go to an rv store to figure out what you want and maybe buy an rv. The only reason people are building rv's out of trucks is to 1 tow a large trailer safely or 2 they are retired truckers that need an excuse to still own one:) If you don't have a passion for building...

Hdt as toter, not for hire?

Not sure on your state, but in the midwest, you can register your trailer as a RT (recreation trailer) and truck as RV (recreation vehicle). Provided you are never using the rig to make money and have your 4 of the 6 things in the truck (running water, cooking device, fridge, heat/ac, power...

    Cummins engines

could be a 5.9 but I would think more like an 8.3. That is a pretty common motor in the larger diesel pusher motorhomes, I would imagine they put that in the medium duty trucks as well.

45 foot T2000 Conversion with Camper

I am on there daily! It seems like anything in the $20k to $40k range is a medium duty with a small CAT motor or DT466 motor. I also haven't found anything with a slideout in it for under $50k or so. Thanks, Steve

45 foot T2000 Conversion with Camper

I have been collecting parts all year for my conversion and figured I should start my own post. My family drag races and we have a 34 foot tag stacker trailer that we haul our cars around in. When loaded the trailer is pushing 24k lbs. Because of this I have shyed away from a motorhome and...
