45 foot T2000 Conversion with Camper

Slideout quote from Norco and Accu Slide Well we were finally able to use the camper rather than work on it! It is far from done but all the mechanicals work and didn't have any problems. Went on a fishing trip up north of Spooner Wisconsin for 4 days and then went to and raced at the World...

    where to get insurance

I have American Family on my conversion that I am doing myself. Rate is pretty cheap, just as its an RV. My title still has the truck listed as a class 8 truck. American Family was fine with that.

LP to residential fridge swap questions

My father in law has his on a properly rated DPDT switch. He has had it like this for 2 years now and no problem. One way runs off the inverter, the other off the generator or shore power.

    Cab to Box clearance

That I can't offer advice on. I don't see it being an issue but that is only my opinion. I plan to buy the wider accordion boot as my father in law has a fixed cab and box on his international and had a hard time stretching the boot across. He left 2 inches and the boot was a bit short for...

    Cab to Box clearance

I left my air ride cab in tact. The T2000 cab on mine tapers a bit but I am between 3 and 4 inches of space. To figure out the spacing for my truck, I let all the air out of the cab bags as the cab tilts back towards the box the most in this case. I left about an 1inch and half of a gap...

    Adding to my skillset

that should work well. I found it very useful to have a camper to use parts from. There is always some odds and ends you can use from it. The camper I bought was 7 years old so I used the fridge, water heater furnace, water pump, toilet, slide out...... Worked out pretty good. Sounds like...

    Adding to my skillset

I see that my link didn't work. See if this one works. It is the designer guide for designing/building a slide set. http://norcoind.com/bal/downloads/accuslide/accuslide_designer-guide.pdf

    Adding to my skillset

There is no "mechanism" per say. The box you build for the room is built. There are 2 brackets on each side of the room. This is for cables to hook up to that would pull the slide out to the "out" position. There is a frame that is mounted to the opening of your wall that has allocations for...

    Adding to my skillset

I bought a wrecked camper for parts on my build which included a slide out. I found out it was made by Norco and I am very happy with it. I ended up disassembling the hole thing as I wasn't impressed with the room assembly itself but the mechanism part works very well and I am very happy with...

Upgrade from 13.5k air conditioner to 15k

I did a lot of research on the ac units as I just bought one for my new build.... Was debating on going between the 13.5 and 15. After talking with the Dometic folks I bought the 13.5. The compressors are the same on the 2 units. The only difference is the 15k has a slightly larger...

    conversion in Indiana

I don't understand why everyone wants to retitle their conversion? I live in Wisconsin and when I went to get plates for my Kenworth T2000 which was still a traditional tractor with a sleeper on it I told them I wanted RV plates for it. (I had 4 of the 6 things inside that would classify it as...

    Too Heavy?

My thoughts.... My 43' T2000 conversion has 7 1/2 feet of over hang behind the rear air bags that would be considered cantilevered. I pull a 23k lb trailer that is exceptionally nose heavy 4,300 lbs on the ball. I get a little bit of deflection in the frame rails when loaded in relationship to...

45 foot T2000 Conversion with Camper

Thanks, the slide was $1800....well kind of. $1800 bought me the wrecked camper that had the slide out in it. I also used the furnace, toilet water heater, fridge and sink. I had planned on using much more but decided to spend the money to buy exactly what I wanted rather than just use what...

The slide out install took longer than expected (what else is new!) but was able to install the slide out over the weekend. Need to finish the paneling and trim work on the inside as well as properly wire it but it is a success! Very happy with how smooth it operates.

new paint for our toy hauler

Wow, that is a lot of times spraying around the truck! I am trying to figure out how much paint I am going to go through when I paint my 28' box and then the truck. I am probably just going to do single stage Acrylic Urethane to cut down on cost and amount of times around spraying! Mine is...

    RV conversion parts sources?

Our trailer doors were damaged so I replaced what was there. The hole was already cut. But yes, you would just cut the rough opening in the wall to whatever size you would want. the door frame comes with the doors mounted. All you do is screw the frame into the wall of the trailer after your...

If you are looking for entry doors like what is shown in the picture, I just ordered one last fall from Challenger door. E-mail Jason Helmuth: JRHelmuth@challengerdoor.com He is very friendly and will get you setup. My French door was around $450 and freight was another $125. It was custom...

45 foot T2000 Conversion with Camper

Thanks, I plan to install one up on the driver side in the living area, hopefully around a 12 foot long one. That will be some of next winters project though! Trying to finish a few things up so I can use it in the next month or so.

45 foot T2000 Conversion with Camper

Slideout removal and installation So I am removing the slide out from the wrecked camper I have. I found out it is made by Norco and if anyone is looking to do an install on one, I believe this is going to be the most cost effective and least destructive to an already built camper. Here is a...

New Awning and working on the slide out I was able to install my Mirage awning. What a beast, 21 feet long and 220lbs. Doesn't sound like a lot of weight but it is when your 12 feet off the ground and on a ladder. Used the jib crane and my car lift to get it up high enough to put on the...
