    When hooked up to sewer...

Yes, a regular RV toilet with house hold flange. As others say, RV's are designed to dump into a tank then and then dump the tank. They don't flush with much water compared to home toilets. So you might end up with things plugging. We had that issue when we had a smaller pipe and didn't when...

    When hooked up to sewer...

We used a house toilet flange. However, use the largest pipe you can find and have a smooth path to the tank to avoid plugs. We initially had a smaller one that would plug up. It wasn't a straight drop but had to go over a bit.

Warping of aluminum skins when mounted to box

When we did ours, we attached the outside panels with tape all around and then I did Sikaflex around the inside to be double sure they didn't come off. After that we spray foamed and put up plywood. We haven't had any issue with 9.5' high panels that are exposed to direct southern sun. They...

    Heated Floors?

You might want to look at the Ditra solution. We used Ditra to decouple from the wood underlayment to tile. They have a heat option. We used epoxy grout.

    Heated Floors?

We have a hydronic system and ran the hot water return from the heaters through the floor. It's nice having warm tile floors on a cold morning. A lot better then our prior 5th wheel or our house's cold floors.

    Anyone Replaced/Upgraded Drivers Seat?

Sorry, final got a chance to measure it. From the front of the back to the front of the seat base retracted is 17". When extended it is 19". There isn't any adjustment in between but tilt might effect that a bit. I'm not a fan of the BackCycler. Neither of my wife or I use it. I think my...

    Anyone Replaced/Upgraded Drivers Seat?

The seats we have have adjustable angle on the arm rests, move them up, then all the way down, lift a little to lock into that position. I find them comfy. They list the dimensions on their site so you can compare them to what you have. I think the seat pan moves forward something like 3"...

    Anyone Replaced/Upgraded Drivers Seat?

We got different seats then stock with our truck since we wanted to be able to rotate them 180 to be part of our living area. Freightliner stopped offering them. We ended up with National Seating https://www.nationalseating.com. You might be able to find a dealer that has sample seats. The...

Track Car Hauler with Token RV aspect.

If you are looking at mini-splits etc. you could use a 220VAC off of 110VAC via a transformer. We did that. When plugged into a 50A at and RV park we have our Aqua Hot on 110VAC 15A and our mini-splits running. The 15A isn't quite enough to heat everything but with the mini-splits it's fine...

    GPS stereos

I have an earlier Garmin RV GPS with the big screen. It lets me put in my weight and size. It works pretty well and I got the camera module with it. A couple of issues which is probably okay that on the weight it will keep asking me about weight issues when I told it was okay in this area...

12,500w onan generator fuel filter question

I used al. angle to mount the spin mounts to and then mounted the angle to the box;s frame rail that sits on the truck's frame rail behind the tank. I figure if I make a mess changing the filter or dumping the water I don't care there. I have long arms so I can reach them okay. It was a...

I added filters that could separate water ahead of the generator and Aquahot lines to deal with B20 diesel.

Outdoor Kitchen - Please share photos if you have them.

I had to put a wind block in front of the lower BBQ slots since wind would blow it out. It's a piece of 1/4" ply. that has a gap at the bottom to let air go over and under.

Finally got some pictures since it's getting dark earlier on the week days. I plan to redo the frame that the Ikea sliding baskets are mounted to. I wanted baskets so I could see the chargers etc. that are mounted on the back wall behind them. They are also easy to remove. We I redo the...

I did a couple things in 2 different bays. One bay, I made a large box out of plywood and used banding to cover up the edges. I attached the drawer slide to 2x4's mounted to the bottom of the bay. I added another slide part way up and attached to one wall. That seems to help with heavier...

    Adhesives for my build

If you need double sided tape for skins I have a bunch left over mostly the 1" for frame to skin versus 3/4" sheet to sheet. We've also used it to attach plywood to the frame. Tape is nice since it holds quickly while the fluid adhesive has time to cure.

    Truck alternator charging house batteries

I've been using the Magnum smart battery combiner ME-SBC. It's fully automatic so you can set the cut off point so you don't drain them both down. I set the low cut off so when it isn't charging it's separate. This way while driving it's charging both or when plugged in the charging of the...

    Solar for the semi ?

One key thing to remember is that you will be cycling lead acid a lot and they don't like that even with deep cycle. We've had a couple of systems. The first we built over time on our 5th wheel with 5 x 55W 12V panels, charge controller, cheapy inverter for the TV. We then upgraded to a...

    Garmin Dezl (570 & 770)

We got the RV version for safety so when traveling we don't get routed where we can't fit. 13' 6" can be a pain hitting trees, utility lines in residential streets etc. We went under one freeway overpass that said 13' 7" and fit. We were a bit nervous. The RV versions should have more RV...
