Do I have to have a DOT?

I just bought a 32' toter that is titled as a motorhome. I am required to have a class A license, but not a CDL. I also get around carrying commercial insurance. From what I understand, as long as you have the "Private Coach, not for hire" decals they will not randomly check you. If you have...

    Drive Tires

Thanks for the advice. I have never believed in cheap tires, since your life is riding on them. Also, my kids will be in the rig with me every time it rolls out...they are irreplaceable. Looking at Cooper Roadmaster RM275 for $435 or midline Yokohamas for $475

I have almost zero experience with big trucks, so it's a learning curve. I have taken the class A written test, but want to practice some more before I take the driving test. I love driving this thing. It pulls like crazy, I can accelerate and pass going up hill in high gear with no problems...

I actually bought it from the most recent owner in New Jersey. He owned it for two years and never went in the back. Flew up and drove it back to Dallas. Very Happy with the purchase, it was a smooth trip. 400 cummins with a 9 speed Dayton (Eaton)? Air ride drivers seat, have to rework...

    Drive Tires

Any advice on Drive tires? I am running 295/75R22.5 lugged tires (1994 date code.) Tread is in great shape, outers are dry rotting. Since I live in Texas, it will probably never be driven in snow. It will definitely be driven on dirt / gravel roads for short periods getting to events...

back of the RV is "unoccupied" a set of hinged twin (bunk) beds on each side (fold up when not in use.) 42" Flat screen TV on the back wall at the front, full bath on left beyond the sink/microwave; on the right, ref/frzr beyond the brkfst table. A 3' x 2' portal is going at the very front...

An access portal is next on the list. I will be opening a 3' x 2' access between the sleeper and rv box. CRL makes an accordian gasket just for that purpose. The rear does not open now. However, is does look like it may have at some point in its life. I am adding folding bunk beds on the...

Ladder - Telescoping Type - PICTURES

I have an 8' x 8' roof top deck (formerly a spotter observation deck) I really didn't want a ladder hanging off the back. My kids love the thing enough, they would be on the roof ever chance. Telescoping ladder solves that problem, lock it in the basement storage.

I just bought this 1984 Toterhome. Apparently it spent most of its life in Michigan pulling an ARCA stacker. Does anyone recognize it / know anything about its history?
