    New here.

We wanted a washer/dryer, but liked our rig too much to let it be a deal breaker. Otherwise, right now all we want are the lights and electronics updated and slide outs in the storage. A cable master and new cab seats are in the distant future. With regard to auto shift, at least the ZF we...

You must be planning to tow something very heavy.

    New here.

Oh, Ok... so the Paccar is not part of the equation for you. I got it. We just purchased the Renegade in October and we've only had it out about 5 times for short trips. We absolutely love it. It is just so comfortable and easy to drive and everything is so accessible. Only downside (to me)...

    New here.

Wow! That W900 is a nice looking tractor. I am new to trucks, so I don't know much about them, but what are the advantages of the Paccar engines? I see that they are in all the premium brands.

What does it cost to have a class 8 RV towed?

Could you take a minute to elaborate on pulling the driveshaft or axle shaft? What does that mean? How do they lift the truck high enough in the front without dragging the rear? These TCs are so low to the ground!

    New here.

Hello and Welcome. I'm new to truck conversions too (just purchased our Renegade in October '15). You've come to the right place for information. The folks here were a tremendous help with my purchase.

    2014 Show Hauler

That is a nicely equipped rig with a very tasteful interior. I'm surprised it hasn't sold.

Bone Stock vs Upgrades vs Factory Upgrades

I am experiencing the same problem with the rope lighting. I figured the color temp when switching to LED would be a concern. I'll try to find a warm white. I just have pea lamps for toe kick. I'm hoping to just upgrade those bulbs if possible. Thanks for the heads up on the glare. For...

Bone Stock vs Upgrades vs Factory Upgrades

The DW and I haven't even had a full season in our TC and we are already talking about upgrades that we want to do, AND our next TC. My question: Strictly from a re-sale perspective, is it better to keep a unit stock, perform upgrades, or only have the factory perform the upgrades? Our wish...

    Converting to residential fridge

The inconvenience of the built in propane tank is what made me take notice of the all electric concept. Getting my rig into a convenient propane fill is a real chore too.

    Converting to residential fridge

That is what spurred my inquiry. I've noticed that Renegade's "top of the line" TCs are all electric, with Aquahot heat. Part of me thinks it is a great idea to simplify and do away with one type of fuel. Part of me feels as thought it is putting all my eggs in one basket. I guess it depends...

Copy that. Thanks for the info.

    Converting to residential fridge

Just out of curiosity, what are the advantages of an all electric fridge over an electric/propane model? I see that the all electric models seem to be preferred in the newer coaches.

Want to talk Series 60 fuel economy?

So reading between the lines here. If I put my right foot on a diet and my manual calculations still yield 5.5mpg I may have a mechanical issue? Over on the trucker's forums they talk about air leaks causing economy problems, I guess it would bark up that tree at that point. Thanks for the...

"Big Rig Friendly Campgrounds" revisited...sort of

Nice reviews. Perdido key is only fourteen hours away from us. I'd like to at least head that way until the thermometer stays in the 60's and stop wherever that occurs.

Want to talk Series 60 fuel economy?

I too prefer to keep up with traffic. However, I fear that the truck's optimum cruising speed is 65mph. The highways around here have a 70mph speed limit, and most traffic moves at 75 (semi-trucks included). I prefer to plug along at 70-73, unless I am contributing to a slow down, then I will...

Want to talk Series 60 fuel economy?

Thanks for the input gentlemen. I will start doing some real mileage computations and see where that leaves me.

Want to talk Series 60 fuel economy?

My instant read averages 5.5mpg sometimes creeping up to 7. I haven't done any actual calculations yet. Anyone else with 515hp Series 60 Detroit care to share some fuel economy figures? It seems acceptable on the trucking forums, but I'm only hauling about 35,000 lbs. (sometimes 42,000) The...

Yes, Virginia. That Cypress Trail looks nice, although I've never been a fan of facilities where there are owned and transient sites mixed.

Have you used that? I ran across it during my search, but could not find any recent mention of it on the forums I visit.

"Big Rig Friendly Campgrounds" revisited...sort of

I'm wondering if anyone has a list or knows of a source for a listing of big rig friendly campgrounds. I've searched with Google, on here, and on a couple RV sites with limited success. Google search seems to only produce dated information. To me, a big rig is anything 30-45' plus a trailer...
