Side Marker/Turn Signals - the lighting fetish continues

I put some turn signal/running lights on the bottom step on my fuel tank steps. My rig had no side turn signals so once a car was next to me and forward of the tail lights they wouldn't be able to see my turn signal. I got some lights similar to these...

    Chariot

I think it might depend on what exactly you need. If it's structural I'd try contacting Showhauler, NRC, Hawk Engineering, or Renegade/Kibbi. Those are all Truck Conversion builders. If it's interior or systems related I would think any r/v service place could help you. Congratulations on your...

Looking at a truck conversion to buy.

Sounds great. I do like the looks of those coaches. I call them "rock star buses." I used to do a lot of overtime work at the Xcel Arena here in St. Paul. Lots of big concerts. Loved checking out the rock star buses.

    Optima Slide Repair

And how come it doesn't twist and tilt when pushing in/out? What kind of slide is it?

    Optima Slide Repair

I found an Optima coach for sale on RV Trader. Looks like it's got an HWH slide on it. They're still in business in Iowa. I had HWH leveling jacks on my previous motorhome and they were good about rebuilding one I sent to them that was leaking.

    Optima Slide Repair

Can you determine who actually made the slideout? Then you might be able to locate a service place. Or at least contact the company that made it to see if they can fix it.

    Minnesota licence

Yep, pretty easy since you just have to sign the form saying you've got the requirements met. The clerks don't really care if you actually do meet the requirements. And the vast majority of cops have no idea what the requirements are, nor do they care.

    Fueling during the last trip.

    Minnesota is about $3.25/gallon now.

    20 foot shipping container

Great question. I look forward to answers since I have no idea.

Looking at a truck conversion to buy.

Thanks for the update #90. I would love a bus if I didn't have a Truck Conversion. I wonder about maintenance on the rear engines though? How long have you had yours? Is it more expensive to get a mechanic in there than tilting the hood up on a truck? Pulls your trailer good?

Ball mount/hitch plate for 40,000 lb. hitch?

Appears my pictures didn't come through. Or they've disappeared due to different hosts or something? Let's see if I can get a picture to post.

Truck conversion meet and greet rally

Thanks Bushpilot! Great idea to start the map thing. I think I marked my spot up on Minneapolis (I'm in St. Paul but apparently Google thinks Minneapolis is more important than St. Paul, even though St. Paul is the capitol of MN).

Truck conversion meet and greet rally

I love the idea. I have attended several of the HDT National Rally in Hutchinson. Missed the one in the above picture. They are a good bunch. Pretty well organized rally. A lot of the stuff doesn't pertain to Truck Conversions. The HDT Rally people are very welcoming to everybody that wants to...

Members On the road, where are you now?

Oh snap, I've completely forgotten about this thread. I took a great 3 week trip in May and forgot to post it. Going to be taking the rig out end of July is the next scheduled. Hope to get it out sooner. I'll try to remember to post.

    Anyone Replaced/Upgraded Drivers Seat?

Another important feature for me is the height of the back rest. Many of the seats I sat in the back didn't come up high enough. I'm not a real tall guy either. I just don't like to rest my head back and not have it completely resting on the face of the seat.

    Anyone Replaced/Upgraded Drivers Seat?

My Bostrom seat arm rests are adjustable. On the underside there is a split in the cloth upholstery and you stick your finger in there and there is a large knurled threaded ring thing. You turn it one way to allow the arm to come down further, the other way stops it sooner. I guess that's the...

    Anyone Replaced/Upgraded Drivers Seat?

I've got Bostrom Wide Ride seats in mine. Took out the crappy Flexsteels that came with it. I went to a large Peterbilt dealer where they had a bunch of seats in the showroom to try out. Spent quite a bit of time sitting there. The Wide Ride is good for me. The arm rests are angle adjustable...

1998 Volvo 630 M11 engine converted to toter

I'm sorry you need to sell. Sounds like a nice truck. Have you listed it on the Escapee's forum? They have a pretty big HDT following. There is also a Facebook group for selling HDT's: https://www.facebook.com/groups/368741390204588/about/

    Hauling motorcycles in stacker trailer

Guessing you'd need some sort of filler or platform to fill in the opening between the two sections of the lift? I know they make drip pans for them. But I bet they also make filler panels? Then you'll likely need several d-rings attached to the lift to secure ratchet straps to. I hope you can...

Trucks similar to "Stepvans", how tall are they? Is a roof raise possible?

Don't know much of anything about what you're thinking about. But, if you go electric maybe a drivetrain from a crashed Chevy Volt or Bolt? I've heard the battery in the Volt is pretty substantial.

Hey Bushpilot, and anybody else, table leg modification

Wow, I got it. There are two of these hook/turnbuckle things. One near each of the crappy original bracket things.
