    Converting to residential fridge

Confused me for a minute. Liquid nails I'm thinking. Yes, sounds like a great idea.

I'm also thinking about cutting a thin piece of plywood to mount on the left side of the cabinet to cover all those wires there. I could use small spacers to allow room for the wiring behind it.

    Rear Bumpers?

Looking good too Don. I have a led spotlight mounted on a clip and I plug it into the trailer wire plug on the back of the coach. Gotta keep it lit at night. I usually take the flag down when we turn in though because you never know if a storm is going to come up during the night.

I started a Facebook group for us.

I recently realized there was no Facebook group for "Truck Conversion Motorhomes." So, I decided to try my tech challenged fingers and start one. I had no idea how to start a group and what to do with it. My intention is to help spread the word about Truck Conversions and to also help promote...

Ford E350 Uhaul to Race Hauler conversion - Low Budget Totter Home Build

If you're using residential style cabinets how are you going to secure the doors and drawers when going down the road?

    Rear Bumpers?

Mine has a ladder on the back but I'm very reluctant to climb up it. I figure my fat lard will rip it off the back. The best thing about my ladder is that I mounted my flag pole to it. I have one of those fiberglass extendable poles that slips into this handy mount on the ladder. I can't find a...

Curt, I just sent you a private message. I had some contact with a guy a few years ago that had bought a United Specialties Truck Conversion. He was in Canada. The truck was in USA. United Specialties had gone out of business. They hadn't certified for Canada. He had to get some inspection of...

Jay's truck (the International on racingjunk) is a mid height sleeper I think? I'm sure you could call him to see how tall it is.

    Converting to residential fridge

Trying to decide another thing. Should I paint the inside walls on either side of the fridge? There's a whole bunch of wires on the left side there so thinking it will be a hard one to paint. Maybe just paint the front 8-10" on each side since you probably can't see further back without shining...

Looks like these pics should work. Here's one that shows that light duty 1x strip along the back where the plywood rests on: And this shows how I positioned the 2x's to support the plywood now: Here's the back vent sealed off: Here's the roof vent:

Yes, I'll take one of the levelers to the hardware to match up. I'll look closer at the rollers. If I take them off I think I would have to install some bolts or something to keep it the same height back there. Another thought I have is maybe making some sort of metal bracket that would engage...

Isn't the 430 a day cab? I'm pretty sure you're not going to want to do this build on a day cab truck. Most of the guys that do this use a sleeper for several reasons. One big huge reason is because if you outfit it with the minimum items to qualify for RV or motorhome license plates you will...

    Converting to residential fridge

Found out I can't edit my posts to fix the picture problem. Apparently we have 120 minutes to edit a post and then it gets locked. So, I made a new album in my picasa and made sure to set it so everybody can view them (I think). Let's see if this works. Here's the opening after the removal of...

    Converting to residential fridge

Thanks for the info on your conversion 38Chev! I like your idea of removing the front levelers and bolting through the plywood into the fridge there. That was one thing I hadn't worked out yet. I know I don't want to secure it from the back bottom because I've sealed off that vent so now don't...

Ya Don, that's a lot of stops. I wish they'd stop me so we can chat. Curt, are you looking to make a "Truck Conversion" (single complete motorhome unit on a HDT chassis), or a tow vehicle to pull a camper trailer?

How come Sam can see my pictures and Don and Tom can't? Sam, my water heater is 120 volt or propane. I have two switches on the wall so I can decide how I want to turn it on. Came that way. Same for the water heater in my Allegro I had before this one. Don and Tom, can you see this picture:

    Converting to residential fridge

My electrical panel is mounted in the foot of the bed so it should work well to wire over from this cabinet into the bed platform and run down to the panel. I'll try to remember to take pictures while doing that.

    Converting to residential fridge

Here's where the inverter is going to go. Next to the bed. My electrical panel is mounted in the foot end of the bed. The house batteries are in a compartment directly under this. I think it shouldn't be a huge deal to run the 4 gauge wire down there. I'm probably going to use flexible...
