"OPT" switches on Freightliner dash - what do they do??!

My rig has an optional switch. The conversion builder (United Specialties) wired it to shut off the living quarters electrical. Possible one of yours is wired as such? The other optional switch on mine they wired to a set of white lights on the back. Good for hooking up the trailer with at night.

    What is this?

Following. I think I've got something that looks just like that on my roof. I never looked close to see what it is.

    Stacker questions

I actually strap the car in two ways. I have frame hooks that I fit into the frame and ratchet straps to d-rings bolted through the floor to the frame of the trailer. I also have a set of straps I believe they call "California Roll Back" or similar. Here's a set of those for sale on ebay...

    Stacker questions

I pull a 24' enclosed. Love it. Total length of trailer from ball to back is 31'. We have a winch to pull the race car in which makes it much easier than climbing out the door or window. But often I just drive my regular car in and squeeze out. I'd love a bail-out side door. Don't know if it's...

    haulmark vs dynamax

I'll second what Don says about an autoshift over a hydraulic automatic. For sure I wouldn't want one. I've had my rig since spring 2009. I've put about 8k miles each summer (living in MN it gets parked for 6 months while we enjoy the snow). The autoshift is the way to go.

    Stuck between trucks

I've been saved big time twice with the cb. Once we were headed west on I94 out of Minneapolis. Trucker comes on the radio and says there's a big jamb w/b. He said where to get off to miss it and what road to take to get around it. Road looked clear to me. But the wife told me I better take his...

    Stuck between trucks

I leave my cb on most of the time and have it set to channel 19. I keep the squelch up so I only hear close others. I also have a switch on mine that turns it over to a p.a. When some dummy starts blabbering crapola I hit that switch so I don't hear it. I wait a few miles and then switch it...

    Freightliner Service

I get the kit from my nearby Kenworth parts counter. It comes with the mail label. I think it goes to Caterpillar in MN.

    Automatic Transmission

I think it's a 4 speed. I looked at an old Kingsley built on a Freightliner. They had put an Allison in that and it was a 4 speed.

45 foot T2000 Conversion with Camper

I've got twin 60's on mine and go 700-800 per fueling. I think you'll be fine with one 135 tank. I love the looks of it built into the garage like that! I have a pass through framed in my rear storage boxes. I like it for storing my fiberglass collapsible flag pole, and I also have a larger tv...

    Freightliner Service

Another thing you can do is draw an oil sample and send it in for analysis. Might be too late now but before your next oil change you might want to do that. I've done it a couple times on mine. The report has come back basically that my engine is in great shape. It's only like $20 or so for the...

    FL70 Toy hauler conversion

Hey, get back to the truck topic, hahahahaah. I say leave the height alone. Why spend money to lose space?

Members On the road, where are you now?

In Grand Marais, MN, for the weekend. Great campsite right near the waters of Lake Superior. Kind of chilly but the roof air set to heat is working fine. Electric sites are only $15/night. I like to use the electric heat when I pay for it. My furnace really throws out the heat if needed...

96 377 pete frame stretch started

My truck was a day cab. They bolted down the cab to the frame, no air ride. I think most of the truck conversions have the cabs locked down. But some have managed to keep the air ride and use the accordian boot.

It looks like you've got two swivel wall mounts ganged together? You need to move the tv out that far?
