A couple of rigs on Ebay

I made some inquiries on this one as it does look practical and the paint can always be changed. The chassis has over 1,000,000 and it has been about a half million since the last engine recon. I know these engines can go a long way but that seems a bit much. Any comments on mileage...

Kenworth T2000 Questions and some available.

Mase, that is a nice looking Kingsley. Out of curiosity, what were your thoughts in dropping the second drive axle from the KW instead of keeping it? John

1953 Kenworth Cabover Tractor only for sale.

I have never seen a KW COE Conversion before. Must be a challenge to maintain a water tight seal between the cab and coach and still tip for access to the engine.

CA DMV RV requirements wanted. Anyone...?

I would ask Larry Ziegler (Onezman). I think he resided in a state near California and has done some conversions in CA. He will probably tell you better information than any DMV clerk.

I got an E-Mal back from Triton.

The Triton box structure sounds very impressive and I look forward to some pictures. There is another market out there that no truck conversion manufacturer is serving: People who want the best and are NOT willing to pay for it. Looks like John and I (along with many others) will be looking...

2005 Kingsley 45' and 3 more on ebay.

It doesn't look like the tractor was stretched at all for this conversion with a lot of van overhanging the rear. I assume those rearmost tanks are the stainless water and septic.

    Prodex foil/foam/foil insulation

The thickness, perfomance in high humidity and ability to puncture it with nails or screws seems perfect for an RV. Probably two rolls for $400 will be enough for most conversions.

1998 Kingsley, International chassis, Cummins motor, on ebay.

$78,600.00 was the highest bid but reserve still wasn't met. Auction ended today. How long it will be before it is back on EBay? I would think that with the low miles and 400HP someone would buy it even without a slide.

Semi-Truck Crash Kills One Madison County Ohio

There are often hard lessons to be learned in analyzing these tragic accidents. Many on this forum appreciate the strength and safety potential of a truck conversion. These collisions reveal the tremendous forces in going from 65 mph to zero in seconds. I found this description with pictures...

1998 Kingsley, International chassis, Cummins motor, on ebay.

This is at least the third time I've seen this Kingsley for sale on EBay this year. Low miles, 400 HP M11 and generating some bids but obviously not the reserve. It lacks slides. I await Geof's critique.

    New to neighborhood

I appreciate Randy's input, as I am admittedly new to this and initially thought that aluminum was a good material given its weight and use in trailers. Your practical considerations make sense. I did not know that the cargo carry capacity of these truck conversions was so unlimited. I know...

    Recent Motor Home Wreck

The added safety of a truck conversion in a front-end collision is nothing new to the "choir" on this forum. Last month in Arizona there was a fatal motorhome accident on Route 93. According to the motorhome driver, a Chevy Blazer traveling Northbound hit his new 2005 Tiffin head on. Both...

RV Bus Conversion Differences. MCI, Eagle, others...?

Thanks. I was looking for this type of critical feedback on the Walker Bus Conversion statement. The heavy skins are a plus though on these buses.

I admire your skills and ambition as you (like many on this site) set out to build the ideal motorhome. The contributors on this forum are an incredible source of experience and knowledge. I share your interest in an aluminum frame and skin accepting that cost will be higher than steel. The...

IS_ Interact System is my best guess from the Cummins website.Cummins Indeed there are the IS X,M,L,C and B engines in addition to the N14 and Signature 600. Now to the next question, how to best select and match a transmission and number of drive wheels to an engine? I sincerely appreciate...

That was helpful. I've also come across in my reading something about a Cummins ISC? Is that also an obsolete engine? What do all those IS_ letters actually stand for? How important is the matching of the engine to the transmission type and number of drive wheels?

Please forgive my ignorance about Cummins engines. What is the difference between the ISX and the ISM (and I think there is also an ISL)? What do those letters actually stand for? Are the larger engines best matched with dual tandems or still OK with single axle conversions (a la onezman)...

    Coach Cage Frame construction

That is a great start. Thank you for your thorough reply. Was aluminum ever considered as a frame material given its tensile strength and favorable weight? Any other methods considered for anchoring (or cushioning) the coach to the chassis? How did those specs and materials come to be chosen...

    Coach Cage Frame construction

The cage structure for these coaches is appealing and somewhat unique. This enlightening forum and the Show Hauler website have some spec information but perhaps a review in this section is appropriate. A summary might include the materials in the cage, and the specs of the metal used...

    Burning Kingsley

Wow. That is sobering. Glad no one was hurt. Thank goodness it wasn't at night while people were on board sleeping. Didn't insurance cover your losses? I recently asked FMCA to add a safety column to their monthly magazine to review motorhome accidents so that we can all learn and possibly...
