    FLD 120 Dash valve

I need to get the MV2 parking brake valve out of my 1989 FLD 120. The valve is bigger that the hole in the dash. Does anyone know how to remove the brake valve for service?

    24.5 Vs 22.5

My coach is fitted with 285/75R24.5 tires which are due for replacement. The 24.5s are a little hard to come by. I have noticed the 11R22.5 tires have the same diameter and capacity as the 24.5s I have some 22.5 wheels available. Is there a reason to stick with the low-pro 24.5 tires?

Rebuilding a body totaled 2018 Volvo VNL Semi 760 3 Axle Youtube Video.

Looks like a very good candidate for rebuild assuming the frame is still straight. It could make a cost effective chassis for a RV. Just find a replacement day cab. Tools that most people have will do most of the work. You would need something like a telehandler or overhead hoist to pick up...

    2014 Prostar

You are already on the right path..... study what others have done. A golf cart is pretty light so your bed will not have to be to heavily built. Make sure that any frame members will not touch with the air bags completely deflated. I would avoid putting a frame member between the wheels like...

    Awning Install

Some pics of the awning install. I spoke to NRC on the phone and they were lots of help locating the top rail. I was told that I could locate the track anywhere I wanted to vertically and did not have to attack the track to a horizontal member. They also told me that the vertical frame...

    Brake conversion

Switching from juice brakes to air is a pretty major project. You might even have to exchange the axels for ones made to accept air brake hardware.

    Brake conversion

You could maybe go to air-over-hydraulic brakes but I don't know why you would want to. I think they are mostly found on military trucks.

Pass-Through discussion: Uni-Grip Accordian Seal Gasket

I just found a picture of you truck. I like the box and think that it will be a good starting point for a conversion. The cab on your truck is common to pickup and med-duty trucks which don't usually have a sleeper thus making a pass through is a little bit more tricky. The full-width rear...

Thanks for the reply Sam, I do have instructions but they assume that the rail is already installed. I'm looking for pictures of other rigs like mine with awnings but I'm not having much luck yet.

    Canadian made

Keep us posted on your build. I'm a heavy equipment operator and bus conversion guy and really like the reliable 2cycle. To get in the right frame of mind to drive this truck first shut your hand in the door hard. Once you are good and pissed off it will run like a scaled cat. As you get to...

    Water heater check valve

There is a little bit a back flow from the water heater into the supply side. I, momentarily, get hot water out of the cold water faucet. Is there any reason that I should not install a check valve on the supply side of the water heater?

Bus Accident, Central CA. Hits Freeway Pole cuts 2/3 through centerline.

Hot rod has a pretty good bead on this one. I've helped Dad convert an MCI and 2 Prevost coaches and they are all hell-for-stout. It looks like a perfect storm scenario got this coach if it had hit on the front of the bus I think that things would be much different. In most cases, I think...

You probably wiggled some wire connections which were lose or corroded and now they make good contact. If you have more trouble try cleaning all of the connections and consider using some dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.

    Freightliner FLD 120

I answered a PM from Eric about this but I'll mention a little about it here. My toter is on the same truck that he is looking at. Mine has a 12' living quarters on it and is quite heavy on the front axle. The added weight flexes the springs and I think that the ride is pretty good. The...

Interior ceiling removal (how do i)

Its hard to see from the photos. What holds the round vents into the ceiling? If you remove the large cover from the AC are there other screws hidden under it? The maybe ceiling screws hidden under the light fixtures as well. I'm not familiar with Haulmark's construction methods but the...
