i bought one tractor ($900.00) on ebay just to part out. found 2nd truck ($6100.00)about same year on ebay again. bought a 33 foot motorhome on craigs list for $3000 and plan on using appliances out of it. you can do it cheep if you have room and time.

did you build back end? why is roof line tall in rear?

i think rear shaft is 60% and front is 40% of lenght. driveshaft shop should be able to tell you. if you change only one shaft your angles maybe off. if you change both lenghts you will have to relocate center bearing bracket. if you change tire sizes it may change engine rpm and speedometer...

i think it will take at least all of next year. i try to go slow and only do it once. dosent always work that way though.

truck for parts. using frame and some cab parts. extra engine.

12,000 lb axle will be heavy enough if you have tandem rear axles. brakes will be set to specs. as far as i know semi's and tandem axle dump trucks have same brakes. if you go with single axle you may want to go to a 18,000 lb axle with heaver load rated tires.

if still looking i would not buy a sterling. they are not going to make them anymore. parts will be hard to get and will be expensive. ford parts have sky rocketed. priced a outer door handle for l8000 ford. $250.00
