    2 Bus Conversions. 2001 Newell 45' and a 2000 Bluebird 40' on ebay.

The main difference is in the construction- Both the Newell and Bluebird are a unibody, whereas the Winnie is body-on-frame, using either a Workhorse or Freightliner chassis. The bus-type units are built fairly stout, the Winnie not quite so, which is reflected in the price one pays for these...

    Paint Schemes

If you look closely, they are all the same truck. These pix ARE photo-shopped. They are real in the sense that they could exist on other trucks, just not this one. Gary

How much does your conversion weigh, GVWR, and how long is your machine?

So did I. It was fun for a while, until I got sick of those saying the 6.0 was a P.O.S. I like mine, and have had NO trouble in 30,000 mi.

What do these numbers mean re Freightliner and Volvo trucks?

You're close- FLD120 is 120" from bumper to back of CAB. Doesn't matter which sleeper. There are also FLD112's and FLC112's with 8" less between bumper and back-of-cab (BBC). Also, the Century and Columbia use a completely different cab than the FLD series. The mid-roof sleepers are a bit...

2003 41' Showhauler, Freightliner Chassis, 236k miles, on ebay.

Another spelling refresher- NO "g" in Cummins NO "u" in Peterbilt (I know, THIS isn't a Pete, but you see this booboo ALL the time...) Also, if the guy hits a low underpass or tree with the ugly high fairing, unless he is going REAL slow, the A/C, antennas, etc. will STILL get nailed...

    2006 Transport Designs

Good info on the electrical setup, Alan. I myself would mostly be staying in campgrounds WITH electrical hookup, but it's good to know what you can do with a good battery, inverter, and solar charging setup. BTW, how long can you run the A/C on batteries w/ the inverter? Between you and Mase...

Good report, Mase, and thank you! Gonna hafta consider this one for whatever truck ends up being the basis for "Da Rig". By the sound of things, overall stability IS improved, which is ALWAYS a good thing! It's stuff like this (AND people like you Mase) that makes this a great site! Thanks again

    2006 Toolset Coach on a 99 Volvo VN610

NICE work Tony! Any chance of posting a floorplan of this rig? Only thing I would do different is keep the truck sleeper and use it for a couple more bucket seats along with adding a window on each side of the sleeper (just MY personal preference!). Plus I think the sleeper makes the whole rig...

Hey Clarence! Welcome to the fold! I think you already know what a great site this is, and it's great having you here! If possible, post some pix of your new rig. We'd love to see them, as most of us could always use some new ideas, as no two of these rigs turn out the same. Again, a hearty...

2003 41' Showhauler, Freightliner Chassis, 236k miles, on ebay.

He shoulda trimmed the roof fairing down a bit; looks awkward sticking up above the roof of the coach. Other than that it looks OK.......

Where's Spooner??? The Hell With Geoff!!!

Left Coast, left coast, oh wait he means the west coast, uhh yeah, "lifestyle" is the correct term here, as long as the word "alternate" is not attached to it. Then it means something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.... Carry on.... Gary

Conversion with Honda Civic in the storage bay, pictures.

That's not a Civic, but one of the first Honda cars that were imported with 2-cyl 600cc air-cooled engines. Pretty cool, the way it's been shortened and decapitated. I'm waiting for someone to find a way to carry a Lotus 7 underneath their rig...... Gary

VMS 240 CL Diesel Engine Monitoring System

I can't remember what you said you got at last report, but the mileage should be getting better as you go. Is this happening? Are you talking about some SS trim like you did on the last one? If so it oughtta look good, as I thought it added a touch of class without being overdone. Looking...
