That’s how the cabinets above the kitchen was done. I also notice playing with piece of AC 1/4” plywood it contours them too with little strength. If I can get 1 x 2’s to bend to them with some kerfing I’m going to get something made of wood up there. Last few nights of rain and hail storms...

Trying to keep metal out of here though natural fiber as felt would be nice. Going with redwood lumber for the countertops unless other reasons I shouldn’t if not then it’s a butcher block countertop. Going with undermount drawer sliders and to prevent cabinets from coming open I scored some...

Yep I am building these in the nude and then some. I understand the budget dilemma as it's fixed income here too and you run with what you got, could of would of should of isn't going to work. Guess you could always go to train yard and take measurements off a locomotive visor of where the...

At this point the celebration for small battle won is looking more victorious! Now you made it this far and have done all this fiberglassing ever heard of Coosa, if not would you have used it in place of the current wood floor? I won't weld naked nor in shorts I was kidding about that part...

Actually it was fiberglass that followed the contours and I’m trying to stay away from plastic, I want something that will absorb sound and is forgiving to vibrations on the road. Noticed with fiberglass it ripped the holes cause it was too stiff and popped rivets thus ended up with sagging...

I’m cringing looking at them and don’t want to think about them curves yet though will overcome them in the end. That is a idea, look at the Airstreams and go from there on creativity. Right now building kitchen cabinets and countertops, I put a little customization that will be noticed for...

To compliment the new bed pedestal/frame or whatever you want to call it need some storage to maximize use of space not used. Plus needed a board to prevent the mattress from sliding off while going down the road. There wasn't one before and few times stopping for fuel it was on the floor among...

After insulating it now is time to put the bed area in to where it goes from front to back, not side to side where you have to crawl over each other getting out of bed.

Doing this with clothes on, that's your problem hehe, so much better in the nude, I know! That's only thing saving my bacon is no humidity hardly and able to do this in my birthday suit in the shade. Maybe some pig iron you hit in the weld, or that dirty of steel or maybe C25 getting blown out...

Yeah it was rotted when I got it, floor made with multiple pieces, upper bunk floor made with 5 or more pieces, previous owner had no skills and the one who built it at the factory didn't either, no wonder why they only made 3. Thanks though I have managed the impossible with it of making it...

Well as I leave the door open for air in the summer time and rain pelts in from some random thunderstorm it only makes sense to waterproof it. Yep I went through every online retailer, stealership, Vanderhaags, LKQ and few others and it's not available. Even called up who managed to make the...

That's how it's done... Rain past couple days here has me looking at my sub floor and thinking yep I need to fiberglass it then put the flooring in. Right now dealing with woes of brake problems, I know how to fix it just lacking parts no longer made.

It's understandable of being busy no quick replies needed here. Yes some of the codes are far fetched useless though I like the ABYC ones best since they are more feasible and put in most severe environment just like when I built a house I never finished (long story in itself, I lost the house)...

Take a piece of stranded wire and flex it as much as piece of Romex wire and see which one breaks first, that's what's going on as the wire vibrates in vehicle. I also advocate the use of marine tinned wire cause it's most resistant to any corrosion and the strands are thinner to offer more...

If you built it, might as well get much as you can use out of it. I get busy and I wait till I get progress done in a whole step then post the pictures and by time they get posted due to off grid takes a bit I'm already onto next step. Being retired nothing else to do and can't go anywhere...

Someplace in the Midwest so people on one coast don’t have to drive to another coast and when cooler temperatures hit would be best.

I don’t see it as excessive, then again you seen my work too, just intelligent way to do it. My thinking was you were going to insulate the under belly of the rig and run PEX between the two layers of insulation without any connectors underneath just at points of where the PEX comes up such as...

Thanks, I’m actually living it in now after I gave the insulation a week to off gas as anything that didn’t cure can. Which spraying it at 90 degrees I’m pretty sure it did. It’s our home and we are RVing in it, just parked on my property living off grid while working on it.

    Roof coatings

There is nothing worth buying if you already have a aluminum roof unless it’s painted. If anything polish that aluminum and it will reflect the sunlight better than any paint. I’m sure on Airstream forums they have proper procedure on going about doing it right.

On wards to spraying insulation in which ran about $1200 to do myself, could of went polyurethane foam boards but the curvature of the walls don't allow it to be proper seal. Plus wanted to prevent thermal bridging so I'm going with hybrid system of spray in insulation and cellulose fiberglass...

Surprised you didn't run the water lines in the floor just in case they leaked or are they running under the floor structure you got in? Personally would of ran PEX below it all to where the lines needed to come up then ran them through the polyurethane foam upwards. What is your plans?

Glad you are doing this right with the windows and that's how it supposed to be done, good find by the way as it's hard to find windows in a set around here like that. Let me guess A727 trans in that van? Did the same with my 5th wheel I am building that is currently on hold till I go retrieve...
