Future of Class 8 sized trucks questions.

I'm sure we will still run Diesel engines in 20 years. Conventionals will still running the road, maybe more of them with very intelligent drivetrains, but I give it still 5 to 10 years until the autoshifts work well enough that a O/O trusts them. I grow up in europe and they tried to move most...

    Translucent Roof for free lighting.

BD why cut up a perfect tight one piece aluminum roof? i did it on our MDT and installed two of them POS camping vents : that vent rattles at night in the wind and always opened itself and broke/lost the lid. i would never do it again why dont you install lots of windows in the side? we got...

Why is this trucks wheel base so long?

ohh sometime I see one of them long wheelbase truck running down the I-40 with trailers attached. Actually I see one truck many times with very special loads, like engines for the 777 on a very tricket out, highly polished, chromed, lighted flat bed trailer. Saw him going down the road in rain...

Conventional or Cabover. Which looks best?

I don't know there is a website, there are for sure some expedition conversion, but most are on chassis we would consider here MDT or smaller. remember most everything is smaller, even newer towns and streets are not planned and build the way that they could handle a 75 foot...

Conventional or Cabover. Which looks best?

Is there a European version website of Truck Conversions like this one? How much more space do you pick up in a cabover and it is usable? Anyone have pictures of cabover conversions that they'd like to post and share? </div></BLOCKQUOTE> yes i have a pic i like to share: im from europe...

    Is it a good buy?

IMHO; no very nice rig and looks to be in great shape but i think Gary is right: grossly underpowered as a ex MDT owner i would highly recomend you to look at something with more "balls" ...like a HDT. the Kodiac cab is just a pickup cab (designed for local delivery).it does not even come...

    Outside Skin

RBlack on our Pete we plan to use .095" aluminum sheets bonded to the steel structure with UHB 3M tape. the bare aluminum sheets will be powdercoated after "dry" fitting them to the steel structure and doing all the needed cutouts and drilling. for a strong bond the steel has to be perfect...

I think I've been to too many hot rod shows, Reno Air Races for too many years... I've seen blown and injected alcohol motors in Anglias (a very tiny car), Griffin motors with counter rotating propellors installed on racing Mustang airplanes (very dangerous/fatal if it falls off during...

    Twin Screw

See they rate it now for 75mph .... cool so that leaves me with just two more problems : Did not find a Peterbilt Rim and there are no 24.5 regular height super singles twinscrew, we singled out because that makes it easier to register as a motorhome in AZ. In CA you can drive a 40 feet...

I don't know who told you that. The 4900 International can tow 20 tons. The red one above is limited by the standard two inch receiver. Never got a bigger hitch because we have build it in California and with a (tag)trailer over 10000lbs you need to have class A non commercial .
