Warpath and your back in your M2

Since my problem came at a early age, the doc's opted for partial disk removal. But that meant a longer recovery (3 months) and I have to make sure I always exercise. With this procedure I have complete mobility. My back will let me know when I am slacking and I need to kick it in gear. My...

    brake question 94 volvo wia

Wish I new that when I had my last conversion. My brakes where just as you described. Light braking was ok, hard braking and you better hang on, because when they hit we where coming to a stop like now! With my new conversion, we did not add the air connections for a trailer. The brakes are...

Warpath and your back in your M2

Actually, the M2 rides almost as good as the FLD did and the FLD had the air ride up front. The last seats I put in the FLD where much better than the seats I have in the M2 right now. The M2 is much more stable with the 14,600 lb front axle. As long as I am riding my mountain bike the back...

Linear Actuator used for bed lift.

You guys had me all worried. I went out to the rig today and checked the bed again. The photo really is an illusion, the deflection is next to nothing. Not even worth messing with.

Linear Actuator used for bed lift.

Actually it looks worse in that photo than it is. To use a piece of channel I need to redo the bed frame to fit the channel. Not a big priority, maybe if I have some spare time someday.

Linear Actuator used for bed lift.

I finally found a few free minutes to put some of the mod's I have done to the new Show Hauler in here. One of the things that I do not like about my Show Hauler is the inability to access the storage under the back bed. In my last rig I used 2 gas struts which worked o.k., but the latching...

Hitch tongue rating and golf cart carrier

Go with the Blue Ox carrier and have a local welder make you a mount to fit our style hitch. We sell Blue Ox and we had a carrier in the warehouse a few weeks ago which I was eyeing up. I also have a custom built golf cart, but most of the campgrounds we end up in do not are 2 small to even...

    Questions about project truck

Welcome to the site! To start I definitely think 11 mpg is possible. My FLD120 conversion with Cummins M11 and 10 speed weighted in at 30,000 lbs plus and averaged 11.5 mpg. Although when I put in a new Super 10 transmission it dropped. Not sure if it just need a bunch of miles on it before...

    Heat Pump

I am assuming that the blower stopped? If it does will the blower run in the AC mode? That might tell you if it is a problem with the blower or heat strip or the thermostat. I am sure you relish the thought of bringing your rig to a RV dealer to fix it. They may have to test drive the rig...

    Length restrictions

First, very cool video in the dunes. Kinda reminded me of that video of Robby Gordon launching his trophy truck at Glamis. Now that was some serious airtime. Well 85ft, that is going to be a toughie if your going to paint that thing up with Speedtrap logo's. The DOT police are going to be...

    Renegade Sold

Over Thanksgiving I traveled through the heart of conversion country and saw that Renegade was building what looks like a identical building to their present facility about 200 ft away. I hear that one is for trailers and the other will be for conversions. It's going to look pretty darn...

What class is this conversion? International DT466.

I know I have posted this before, but for the lurkers who stumble on to this post, I'll draw a comparison. My 30' conversion has 300 hp 860 ft/pd, 6 speed automatic and weights in at roughly 30,000 lbs. and I tow a Jeep which is roughly 3500 lbs Awesome on the flats and moderately rolling...

Is a manual transmission ever better than an auto in a conversion?

Don't forget resale. Your goona loose big on a manual unless you find just the right guy, and I say good luck! Been there done that.

    2005 Showhauler, 45', on a 2000 Freightliner, 470k miles on ebay.

Actually, he is having another Show Hauler built, so the one at his website must have been the very first attempt. Not sure what was wrong with this one that he is selling. I saw some info on this guy at racingjunk.com about a month ago.

Now here is a real conversion

Geof tell us what you really think, and don't hold back. I live in Amish country so it doesn't bother me. I am sure a horse lover may say the same thing about that hound dog of yours. Anyway, I would not need a horse toter myself, but finish off the back side with the remainder of the...
